Chapter 11

Mulder's POV

The next day we were awakened by a loud siren that the whining of my fellow students heard all over camp. It's 5 a.m. I am still sleepy though, I went to bed at 2 in the morning. I sneaked out last night and headed to the part of the woods where no one would follow or see me. I brought all my equipment, and still no sign of a UFO. It appears usually in this kind of area. I don't know why but it does. I thought of dragging Scully with me last night but her cabin was quiet and thought she was already sleeping. But she will like the place I went to last night. It's near the river and the area I stayed in is surrounded by trees and there are lots and lots of fireflies. I am sure she'll love it. Then suddenly I found myself smiling that John Doggett caught me.

"Dude, you must have the greatest dream." He suddenly said.

I just looked at him and stood up went to the sink and washed my face.

So to change the awkward aura that we have here I turned to John and "So John, can I call you that? Or Doggett?"

"John, John is fine. It feels weird when you call me in my last name like we work in the government, like in the FBI," he said as he chuckled.

"Oh, okay. Where are you from John?" I asked.

He answered. "I am from Phoenix, Arizona. But my folks decided to transfer and live here in California. Their jobs are here and they're tired of going back and forth from work to home."

"Ahhh..." That's all I can say.

"How about you Fox? Wait, is Fox your real name? Or it's just a nickname because...maybe you're like a fox.?"

"Yes, it's my real name, John. And I have lived here in California since birth."

"Okay." Then it's his turn to wash his face. "Anyway, what is the purpose of this survival camping?"

"I don't know. Sir Walters said to apply what we've learned from P.E. For me it's pointless."

"Yeah, I agree. Oh well, we better go now. I wonder what we're going to do today." John said and headed for the door.

When he opened it a shocked Scully was in the doorway wearing short jeans and a plain red polo shirt, and her right hand was ready to knock but she immediately put it down.

"Ah, good morning." She greeted.

"Well, good morning to you." John greeted back, standing up straight like he was trying to impress her.

But, as usual, Scully didn't notice it. She just asked, "Ahm, is Mulder there?"

John, looking confused said, "Mu- oh! Mulder! Yes, he is here. Fox someone is looking for you."

I appeared behind John. "Oh there you are, man you are like your name, the animal fox."

I chuckled. "Good morning Scully. What brings you here?" I said and I am trying to hide the excitement I am feeling right now every time she is near. But I have a feeling John knows it. Because he has been looking at me since I faced Scully.

"I thought you were still sleeping I was going to knock and wake you up coz everyone is gathering in the open field right now. Mr. Walters is about to give instructions." Explained Scully.

"Thank you I am awake since the siren made a loud noise." Then I remembered John. "By the way, this is our new schoolmate John Doggett. John this is my...my friend Scully."

"Hi, nice to meet you, Scully?" John was confused as he stretched his right hand to shake Scully's hand

Then Scully replied, "Oh yes, actually Scully is my last name. I'm Dana, Dana Scully. Nice to meet you too John. Okay, I'll be going now, Mulder. See you there." She ran off.
