The Stars, The Moon...

Nothing was more perfect. With the oncoming eclipse, on All Hallows Eve. The night a veil amongst the living and spirit realms became its thinnest. Like smooth gossamer, it would flutter. And with a small rip, expose the true nature of fear.

Of course, this was a far better idea of going about true domination over the Guardians.

And yet, there he stood. Hunched over, crouching amongst the branches of trees. It all happened by chance, the first time. The mortal female had been walking; sensing something dark and foreboding in the shadows. Pitch Black had grinned, drinking that fear like he was dehydrated.

Then, came Sandy. A knight in shining gold armor. As always. The little man had conjured a butterfly, capturing the innocence that still laid in the girls heart.
It made his stomach churn.

After that faithful night, Pitch had kept a close gaze on the two. Lurking, unbeknownst to them, at the edge of shade. Golden eyes narrowed as the two shared stories, and laughed. A simple crush that followed in days the two met.

He glowered to himself as the two began a tickle war in her room, and even made some rather... Intrusive, yet innocent, positions in doing so. Sanderson seemed clearly flustered, while Ruby seemed either oblivious... Or a minx for acting like nothing happened.

Which have you, really.

It gave the dark man a lovely idea.

"Thank you, Sanderson... Very much."

It was a normal day, for Sanderson Mansnoozie. He was floating, just a few feet from Toothania, Nickolas, Jack and Aster. Thinking of the previous night with a dreamy grin on his face;

Ruby met him on her porch at dusk, just as they had planned. She stood, in her usual wool coat. But a Thermos and a bright pink box were clutched in her arms. He held out his hand for her, helping the young lady upon his dreamsand. And she placed the box between them, while handing him the warm Thermos.

He was quizzical, "Gourmet hot chocolate. From the bakery I work at. This one is my favorite. Mint, white chocolate. Try it!"

He glanced at it, unscrewing the cap and taking a sip. What met his tongue was smooth, warm with a cool finish of real mint leaves. He melted into it; and smiled broadly before taking another drink. He promised himself to savour it, for as long as he could.

"And! A gift." Her hands reached for the box, and handed that to him. As the dreamsand took them higher into the sky, he sat down beside her. Screwing the cap on, and setting the mug to the side as he hesitantly opened the box with care.

Inside, laid a single globe. Not one he had seen in her room before. Surrounded by white chocolate, macadamia nut cookies. And golden macaroons.

"They are edible. We have an edible spray paint, usually use it for graduation or wedding cakes. Its a beautiful metallic gold. Took me a few tries to mix it up, but I think I got it right." She beamed, watching his hand pick up the globe. Peering inside of it with tears in his eyes.

It was filled with dark water, and each time he turned it, a swirling array of blues, purples, and pinks met his eyes. It looked like galaxies, ones he hadn't seen in a very, very long time.

She leaned closer, and pointed at the golden stars floating inside. "This reminded me of you. Our first time watching the stars..."

Ruby was surprised when he turned to her with tears in his amber eyes. "Sandy... I'm sorry... I thought-"
