(Recap: Mason and Jackie have history. They talk and then he talks to Kelly)
|Shana|
The dinner party was almost over and all the little drama died down. I was on my third cup of wine and as I finished, Keisha came up to me. "Shana, step out in the hallway with us real quick." She whispered and snuck out the door. I set the glass into the sink and swayed over to the door and Kurt smirked and followed. I pulled the door up a little and turned to face them. "What's up guys?" I asked softly. Keisha looked me dead in the eyes and sighed. "Look, this may sound strange but Kurt and I need your help." She whined. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at her confused. "Help with..?" I dragged on. "Look, Keisha and I want a baby but she doesn't want to go through with the whole pregnancy thing. And she really can't have kids because she got her tubes cut went she was younger for health reasons." Kurt said grabbing Keisha's little hand and holding it in his. They exchanged a saddened look between each other."So you want me to be a surrogate?" I asked. The word surrogate kind of echoed through the hallway and I got a little nervous now. "It wouldn't work because they removed all the eggs. But I always would want you to be apart of the baby's life. Mothers have a certain bond when they give birth and I don't want to ruin that. What's wrong with have three parents." I could see Keisha's eyes light up and I could tell that if I'd agreed to do it, it would mean the world to her. But I was only 21 and I have a full life ahead of me. Becoming a registered Nurse meant the world to me and is having a baby right now a good thing? "I don't know. We're all still in school. You'd have to get Kurt's sperm... it's a whole process." I sighed. They exchanged a look and looked back at me. "We're okay with this only if you are. Maybe you should sleep on it. We'll discuss this over lunch tomorrow. Keisha and I will come pick you up from your apartment." Kurt said pulling out his phone and handing it to me. I put my number in and gave it back. I hugged myself and looked at the floor. Keisha pulled me into a sweet embrace and let me go. Her and Kurt began leaving. I still looked down at the floor. This was just a big life decision. "Shana, you okay out here? I heard talking." Jasmine said peeking her head out. "Yeah, y-you didn't hear anything did you?" I shuttered out. She pulled the door open and stepped out. "No, but was it something I needed to hear?" She asked raising an eyebrow. I shook my head quickly and continued to look down at the floor. I rushed back into the apartment. I grabbed my jacket off the hook and ran back out. "Shana! Where are you going? What's going on!" Jasmine yelled after me. I tuned her out once I entered the elevator and pressed the first floor button. I closed my eyes and breathed in slow. "Looks to me like you're stressed." A males voiced lingered. My eyes shot open and next to me stood a very tall guy. "I guess you could say that." I sighed. He was a little bit heavy set , but he still was fine. His caramel skin shining under the the elevator lights. The doors finally opened and he motioned for me to step out. His black bread sitting nicely cut on his face. "How about I take you to get a drink?" He smirked once we were standing in the lobby. I looked around. "I don't know, I'm just now leaving a dinner party and I've had enough alcohol for the night... Thanks anyway ... umm" I said dragging on the last part. "Bishop Weston, nice to meet you." He held out his hand and I gracefully accepted and shook his hand. "Shana Carlos-Waters, it's nice meeting you too. Do you live in this building?" I asked. "I do, I just moved in here about a day or so ago. What about you?" "No, I go to the community college downtown. I stay closer to the campus. My best friend lives her with her friends." I smiled. He nodded and and stroked his bread. "Well, I'm on my way to work. I'll see you around.." He smiled. "Yeah, I'm here pretty often. You'll see me." He left out and began walking down the street. I breathed in deep and out extremely slow.

"Jas what was that with Shana?" "I'm not too sure.. I seen them all step out into the hallway and when I didn't hear mumbling anymore, I went to check on her." She shrugged. I held sleeping Leilani in my arms. Her soft snoring making me smile. "Man she's heavy. She's getting so big." I smiled down at her. Jas looked up and smiled. "Alright bubba, time to go to bed." Jas said to Landon who sat next to Alex on the couch watching cartoons on Netflix. He began to pout. "But I don't wanna." He whined. Victoria and Corey left after getting food. Apparently it was date night for them, so they went to go see the new movie Split. "Alex, you too. Get upstairs and get ready for a bath." I said. Alex pouted and crossed his arms while scooting off the couch. "You wanna give them a bath and I put them to bed?" Jas said. I looked out on the terrace and saw Mason out there talking to Jackie. "Um, I got everything guys. You just finish cleaning." Dupree said getting up. He took Leilani from my arms and climbed up the stairs behind the boys. I looked down at the ground as Jas walked around me. Everyone had just about left except Mason, Jackie, and Dupree. I snapped out my train of thought and I started picking up plastic cups. "Wondering what their talking about?" Jas spoke. Her voice filled the kitchen and I shook my head keeping quiet. "You don't have to bite your tongue with me. I know you." Jas said placing wine glasses into the since. Though we were old enough to drink, Shana still bought wine over and we had a few cups. Wine made you relax and loosen up a bit. "Quite frankly, whatever they're talking about is none of my business. I don't want to know." I scoffed. I did want to know but Mason isn't my boyfriend therefore not my job to question his whereabouts. "Whatever you say..." Jas said.

Climbing up the stairs I could see Dupree tucking in Leilani. I stood in the doorway and smiled. "Finally got the boys to sleep?" I whispered. He shot his head up in my direction. "Yeah, they were wild. Splashing water everywhere." He laughed. I could see the nearly dried water stain in the middle of his black thrasher shirt. "Thanks, but Jackie is waiting for you downstairs." I pointed. He rose from the small bed and nodded. He smiled as he passed me and disappeared down the stairs. I entered the kids room and walked towards their green night light. I switched it on and returned to the doorway. Watching them for a moment, Mason came and stood next to me. "Hey you, Jas said you'd be up here." He said. I turned the kids bedroom light out and walked the hall to my room. Mason followed close behind. I didn't know what to say, so I just remain quiet. I shuffled around my room. "So, you just not gone talk to me now?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders and put my hair into a ponytail. Mason ran toward me and tackled me down on my bed. I screamed in laughter. "What are you doing!" I said playfully hitting his chest. "Had to make sure you wasn't made at me, cause I got an important question." He laid on top of me. He was heavy and he was squishing. "What is it!" I said trying to knock him off me. "Can we make it official, cause I'm tired of playing this game with you. I want you." He said laying his forehead on mine and slowly breathing in. I went silent for a minute, because I'd never thought this day would come so quick. But it's here and now I'm lost for words. I looked away and I squeezed my eyes shut. I cracked a smiled and I turned back towards him. "Of course we can." After blurting that out, Mason smashed his lips on mine. It was getting hot and I didn't really want it to be like this but I was hard trying to fight it. I finally broke away from out little makeout session. "I should really go take a shower." He got from on top of me and I rolled out of bed. "Maybe, I should join." He smirked. "Um. No sir! Nice try though." I threw my hands up and went into the bathroom, closing
and locking the door behind me.~~~~~
