I drop my body lazily to my bed and sigh. I'm just about to check my phone when the door suddenly opens quickly. Shocked, my body jolts into a sit position as I look at the door wide-eyed. Dad walks into the room, and I sigh in relief. It's just dad. But, he looks so... frightened?
"Wake up! We have to go!" He whisper-yelled. I look at him in confusion as he locks the door quickly. Go where?
"What's going on?" I ask as I stand beside him, only to get ignored by him. He pulls the bed sheets off of my bed roughly and I just stand beside him and watch him struggling in a state of confusion. Why is he pulling my bed sheets?
"Just help me!"
I take a step back at his outburst and help him with the bed sheets. As we tie the bed sheets with the duvet, a loud banging and yelling can be heard outside my room door.
"Hey! Open the door!"
"Open the window." Dad says. I run to the window and open it in one push. Chilly night air blows at my way as I look around the quiet road and neighborhood.
"Come here. Tie this at the feet of your bed. Hurry." He shoves the bundle of bed sheets and duvet and I quickly take it and run to my bed.
I tie the bed sheets to the foot of the bed tightly, until the palms of my hands feel slightly burning. I pull the bed sheet again, making sure it's tight enough, and take the bed sheets back to dad.
I see him pacing back and forth as I walk towards him. I give him the bed sheets back and he takes it quickly. He throws the bed sheets out of the window and says, "Jump, hurry. We don't have much time."
I grasp at the bed sheets tightly and climb up the windowsill. I close my eyes tightly and jump. I slide down, hands burning from gripping the bed sheets tightly.
My feet touch the ground and I quickly let go of the bed sheets, a scorching feeling already cover the palms of my hands and I let out a quiet hiss.
I should have climb down, not slide down. But who cares for now? Someone is chasing after me and my dad! And of course I have to hurry!
I wait for dad to come down impatiently, watching him climbing down the wall. He jumps effortlessly to the ground and yells, "Run!"
I whirl and run as fast as I can. I keep moving my feet quickly, so quickly I feeling like I'm kind of floating. I keep running, the deafening sounds of the winds fills my ears as my heart thumping against my chest.
I run towards a house and go to the dark side of the house, hiding from the lights of street lamps. I rest my back on the wall, panting hard. Dad jogs towards me and rest his back next to me, panting too.
"That was fun." He huffs a laugh. I snap my head towards him, looking at him in disbelief.
Fun? Fun?! I'm scared to death and he says that was fun?! What's wrong with that mind of his? Is the sanity in his mind gone at this moment?
"What was that about?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, with a slight scowl showing on my tired looking face.
"It's just a test, really." He lets out a groan and moves off the wall, standing in front of me.
A test?! The hell?! I thought a murderer got into our house and wanted to kill us! And where's the banging and yelling from?
"Come on, let's go back home." He waves his hand weakly and begin to walk. I move from the wall as a groan got out of my dry throat.
Damn, my body feels so sore.
I close the door behind me with all the power I have left and rest my body on it. I keep staying on that position for awhile, and wipe the sweat away from my forehead with the back of my hand and walk into the living room.
