Chapter XIII - Rosalia's Song

- 3:41 p.m., Haven Forest - 

"Axel slow down!" Rin yelled as the group followed behind Axel.

Axel and the group halted as a large beautiful lake that seemed to be in the center of the forest blocked their path.

"Oh my... this is beautiful," Mizore said in wonder and awe.

The pathway the Conscript walked on led directly into the center of the lake surrounded by dark and tall trees.

A blue butterfly flew across the lake ever-so delicately, grabbing the attention of Axel.

"Guys look," Axel said as he pointed out the butterfly to the others.

"What... is this place?" Mizore asked as she got closer to the water.

The water was incredibly clear and glistened despite the lack of light.

"I didn't know Haven forest had a lake like this, how come I've never heard about it?" Rin asked as everyone spread apart trying to get to the other side of the lake.

Mizore dipped her hands in the freshwater and began playing with the water.

"C'mon Mizore, we don't have time to mess around," Vincent scolded, walking towards Mizore to help her up.

A ray of light from the sun shined down extremely brightly onto the center of the lake, causing everyone to look at it.

"What is happening?" Axel asked quietly.

The Conscript began to feel drowsy and fought their drowsiness by continuing to stare at the ray of light.

"I have to fight it... I'm not tired..." Vincent groaned as he rubbed his eyes.

After rubbing his eyes, Vincent witnessed a woman appear within the ray of sunlight.

"Do you guys see what I see?" Mizore yelled, quickly standing up.

A naked woman appeared from the ray of sunlight. She had long silver hair that covered her breasts and a trouser garment made of leaves like in fairytales.

The woman was suspended in the air with her head leaned back and her two arms extended making her body appear like a cross.

"...Mom?" Rin asked, letting tears fall from her eyes gently.

Axel turned to Rin in confusion, "She looks like mom..." Axel explained.

Mizore and Vincent stared at each other in confusion.

Taurus, standing behind Axel, walked closer to him and put his hand on Axel's right shoulder.

"That's not your mom guys..." Taurus explained.

The woman remained suspended in air but had a more relaxed posture.

She opened her eyes and examined the five kids in front of her.

"Who...Who are you?" Rin stuttered, hesitant to speak in general.

The woman smiled at Rin and Axel, forming tears in her eyes.

"You resemble our mother very much... please, explain to us who you are," Axel spoke up, slowly walking closer to the water.

The woman opened her mouth as if she were about to speak but quickly covered her mouth and began crying.

Rin covered her mouth with both of her hands and also began crying.

Mizore ran to Rin's aid and began hugging her from the side.

The blue butterfly that Axel pointed out from earlier flew down to Rin's position and rested itself near Rin.

"...I wanted to see you again..." The woman cried. Her voice sounded extremely angelic, with echoes following her every sentence.
