Chapter 28

Audrey's POV:

I woke up to the bright morning sun in my face.

I got up and took a quick shower.

I put on a pair of black high waisted jeans, a strapless white shirt, I tucked it in. I also put on a pair of white strapped heels.

I curled my hair and put on light make up.

I grabbed my phone and looked at the time.

12:35 pm.

I texted Edward;

To: Edward💘

Hey. I'm ready a little earlier. Want to hang now or later?

He responded immediately;

From: Edward💘

Let's hang now. See you in 5.

I put my phone in my pocket and went downstairs.

I heard the doorbell ring.

I went to get it and it was Edward.

"Hey." I said giving him a hug.

I tried to pull away, but he pulled me back.

"I missed you." He mumbled.

I pulled away. "I missed you too."

"Shall we?" He asked taking my hand in his.

"Uh, sure." I said nervously.

I'm not sure that he knows about me and Ronnie back together.

We got in his car and drove for what seemed like hours of silence.

We arrived at a fancy restaurant.

"Edward," I started in awe.

"Hey it's fine. C'mon." He said opening the car door.

I stepped out and he took my hand.

"Edward, I think you should know, Ronnie and I are back together." I said biting my bottom lip.

He looked hurt. "Doesn't mean we can't have a nice breakfast right?"

"Of course not." I said smiling.

He smiled back and led me inside.

"Hello, Table for two?" Asked a pretty brunette waitress.

"Yes." Edward responded and followed the waitress towards our table.

"Enjoy. I'll be right back to take your order." She said winking at Edward before strolling away.

"So," Edward started.

"Listen things shouldn't be awkward between us.." I said slowly.

"There's not a reason things should be awkward right?" He asked with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Of course not." I stated.

Edward opened his mouth to say something but got interrupted by the same waitress coming up to our table and asking;

"What would you guys like to drink?" She said flatly taking out a notepad.

"I'll take a water." I said smiling.

"Orange Juice." Edward said.

"I'll be right back." She said winking at Edward once again.

He wasn't exactly bad looking.
