the rest of the day went by quickly; I actually had something to look forward to. at lunch I told the twins and kayla about my plans.
"CAN I HELP YOU WITH YOUR HAIR?!" kayla screamed
"AND YOUR MAKEUP?!" the twins screamed almost at the same time
"yes, yes, yes of course," I said with a big smile across my face.
we all walked over to my house. first we ate a few chips and drank some sodas as we watched the vampire diaries on netflix. at about 6, my parents came home and noticed we were having a girls night so they went out for dinner, and I started getting ready directly after they left.
Kayla sat me down in the chair in my bedroom, after turning on a curling wand. "I don't want to look like a pageant girl, okay guys?" I stated, all of us began to laugh.
The twins set out all of my makeup as Kayla began.
it took a total of about an hour, hair and make up and all. I looked in the mirror once they had finished.
"oh" I gasped, as I looked at my reflection. It seemed as if I had porcelain skin, with a touch of tope eyeshadow and mascara and lipgloss; it gave me just the look I wanted: natural. my hair was in flowing waves, natural looking just as I had hoped.
I turned around to see the girls popping out of my closet. Haleigh held up a dress.
"no, no I can't." I replied. "my scars... I don't want him to see them. "
"that's why the doctors gave you flesh colored leggings! pleaseee? it'll look amazing on you!" she pleaded.
I nodded my head, and took the dress from her hands. I then grabbed the leggings from the bottom drawer of my dresser. I headed to the bathroom to change.
before I exited, I looked at my reflection once again. the dress was a deep red, it was tight fitting around my waist and hinted against my chest. none of my scars showed, and for that I was pleased. I walked into my bedroom once again.
"oh it's perfect on you" Ashley said, gazing at my appearance. she picked up a pair of high heel black ankle boots to go along with the black accents in the dress. I slipped them on right before the doorbell rang.
" go go go! we can show ourselves out!" Kayla screamed, shoving me foam the stairs after handing me a purse with my phone and lipgloss inside.
I opened the door. there he was, Grayson, and another single rose.
"wow" he murmured, trying not to seem to pleased with my appearance.
I smiled. "thank you." we headed out the door. he walked me to his car, a very old mustang. he opened the door for me.
"so, do I get to know where we are going yet?"
"not yet, my apologies."
he turned the key and the car started, backing out of my driveway and heading east. the car ride was filled with unusual laughter, laughter we found ourselves at when we took stolen glances from one another. then we had arrived.
the sky was dark, filled with stars.
he opened my door, and offered his hand to help me out. I took it, gratefully, for my legs still lack in their blood flow ever so often.
"now you know" he said smiling at me
we walked hand in hand through a field for a few minutes until we reached a slowly flowing creek that fell from a mountain top.
we walked trough the pathways that had obviously been made many years before this one, until we reached the top. it wasn't that high, but it showed the beauty of the world around us nonetheless.
"breathtaking" I said, staring into the starry sky that was the only apparent thing from where we stood. I turned around to see the water fall, small and flowing.
"my words exactly" he said, and when I turned around, I caught him staring at me.
he reached over to the right, grabbing a blanket. he laid it down on the ground and aided me in sitting on it. he followed, placing himself next to me.
"that constellation there," he pointed, "it's my favorite. I do no know of it's name, but it reminds me of hope somehow."
I stared at it, eventually finding the meaning in his thoughts. it did, though I have no idea how, give you hope.
"I see what you mean, it's, it's..."
"no need, I understand." his hand inched towards mine. he eventually intertwined his fingers with mine, and I did not resist at all, I rather enjoyed it.
I settled my head on his shoulder. I felt awkward making such a daring move, but there was no turning back now; I had already done it.
"what would make you so mad that you were interested in a girl like me" I asked, wholeheartedly hoping he would reply with a sweet answer.
" your eyes." he replied.
I looked up, puzzled. he smiled.
"I could see they were as hurt as mine. hoping for something, a miracle maybe; I wasn't quite sure. but they seemed familiar, like I had seen them in a dream of some sort. "
I did not reply. I only settled my head on his shoulder again. I do not know how long we spent there, staring at the sky, being with each other.
we soon stood up, with my regrets. I brushed my dress off, and looked up. the only light for us to see was from the moon.
"you're beautiful, dear Addison." he said to me.
I again did not reply, but rather made a daring move. I leaned up, since he was till taller than me even with the heels, and kissed him. butterflies shot through my spine as he wrapped his arms around me, kissing me back.
butterflies was all I felt; that and his embrace.
