Kem (hello again, dear;) )

Liam Payne-One Direction

Peace. Quiet. Calm. I leaned my head on the back of the couch. A day of relaxation. I repeated the mantra in my head a few times, my own personal meditation.

Peace. Quiet. Ca- goddamn it. I cursed, hearing an insistent knock at the door. I sighed, getting up, and going into the hall. I'd already planned all the painful ways I would kill them if it was the boys. They knew not to disturb me today. They called it my man-period, but hey, can I help it if sometimes I just need a day away from everything? I checked I was decent (hey, I'm sure they can deal with me not wearing a shirt) before opening the door, with my best 'what do you want?' look. However my face softened when I saw the beautiful girl standing in the rain. Her hair was sticking to her face, and she had a thin trail of blackish water leading from the corner of her eye, where her eyeliner had smudged. She was wearing a black trench coat, and holding two duffel bags. She looked like something out of a movie.

"Liam?" Kem asked, raising an eyebrow, and smiling lightly, although it seemed a little forced.

I coughed. "Sorry."

She gave me a look. "Are you going to invite me in, or do I have to die of hypothermia first?"

"Oh, yeah, right, sorry," I stepped out the way. She laughed, and walked in, dropping her bags at the foot of the stairs. "So, what brings you here?"

She shakes her hair like a dog, and drops of water fly everywhere. "We're over," she states simply.

"I'm sorry?"

"Me and Barney, we're most definitely, completely and utterly, over." She stated.

I looked at her. She looked like she wasn't bothered at all, but I could see the way her shoulders hung, like there was an invisible weight placed on them. I don't know if it was her previous statement, or the way I was looking at her, but she broke down suddenly. I simply walked forward and wrapped her in my arms, holding her tightly. I quietly pulled her into the living room, and over to the couch. When she calmed down, I pulled away, and wiped away her tears, leaving thick black smudges in the lines that were now running down her face. "Better?"

She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. My breathing stuttered, but I forced it to return to normal. Is it bad if you want to kiss the living daylights out of your life-long best friend? I know it's not advised, but is it bad?

"So, I have a question."

"Ask away." I smiled.

"Can I stay with you?"

I stared at her. "What?"

"Well, as you know, me and Barney lived together, and now we're over... well, I'm kinda homeless..."

I sighed. I wanted to help her, I really, really, did, but having her stay with me, until she could find somewhere else to live, is not going to help my health. My heart's already going wild having her sitting so close, and if it's like this everyday, well, I'll be dead by the end of the week.

"I don't know if that's the best idea...." I saw her eyes dull a little more than they already have. I knew she felt betrayed.

"Please Li," she begged, her eyes wide her lip pouted, unintentionally giving me the puppy look. "I literally have nowhere else to go. Unless I stay with one of the other boys..." she trailed off, taking her phone out of her pocket. Now that we cannot have. She's a pretty girl, and they're hormonal young guys. You do the the maths.
