Chapter 4.

Days later I stood behind the counter at Starbucks, again, with Alice.

"Christina, I wanna go out," she whined at me.

I stopped picking at the chipped varnish on my nails and looked at her.

"Like, to a club. I just wanna go get drunk and not remember any of it and wake up in a strangers bedroom!" She sighed, leaning back on the counter, her head back and looking at the ceiling.

"Okay," I said,"you don't have to tell me twice."

She put her hands in the air triumphantly,"we're gonna get fucked!"

I laughed before turning back to serve customers.

I sat at my desk again, concentrating on the drawing in front of me.

I loved art and the sea, so I combined tried to combine them both to make something of it.

I already had a tattoo of an anchor on the inside of my forearm, a banner wrapped around it saying Lost At Sea.

I sighed, a frustrated huff coming from my mouth.

I stood up and paced around my living room.

The walls were yellow, a fireplace on one wall with small quirky items on the mantle that'd I'd picked up on holidays.

I had an old, black leather couch from my parents' house and a flat screen in the corner with a ps3 connected up to it.

The highlight, in my opinion, was that it came with a two metre long bookcase built into the wall. It was as high as the ceiling and filled to the hilt with books.

One wall was covered in pictures in different frames and sizes.

I went through to the less decorated kitchen, an electric cooker, oven and grill, a small microwave, a few presses with few sets of plates, bowls and the likes. There were a small amount of glasses and the same was for mugs. a fridge-freezer with some food, enough for one and a kitchen table with two chairs. I thought of buying one, but I felt like the people in Ikea would judge me.

I flipped the switch on the kettle and pulled out a cup and a tea bag.

I turned up the volume on my CD player as my favourite song began.

I'd bought Cavalier Youth by You Me At Six and so far Cold Night was my favourite song. Just because Max was the main reason the song was written.

Hours later and I was finished with drawing.

I sat on my couch with a sigh, a bowl of rice in my hand and a fork in the other. I turned on the tv and wrapped myself in a blanket, watching some soppy romance movie.

Here's to the single life.

A/N

So I really damaged my knee the other day (like it feels like there's an air bubble trapped between my patella, my femur and my tibia and it's really sore (that's junior cert biology guys, from a couple of years ago) and yeah it feels like 56463743098403 knives stabbing all parts of my knee at once and prying the bones apart (lovely image for a Friday night.)

Picture of Mike looking fab over there. This was also a filler. I just want Jordan in the story now!

So yeah.
