"Passengers we are landing, please fasten your seatbelts and sit back."

We are landing. I said that over and over to myself. No more Alaska. No more Daisy. No more memories of dad. Nothing.

I look over to my mom to see that's she's fastening her seat belt, because she's 'deady afraid of planes', yet she makes me go on vacation to Mexico every summer.

I sit up and look around for Nate, and he's three rows behind me. I smile at him, and he smiles back.

"Lyd are you excited? We get to go clothes shopping, and buy new purses. I can't wait." My mom says.

"Mom, you do remember I'm going to private school, right? We can't wear clothes other than our uniforms." I say with ignorance. I'm being a little hard on my mom but she knows I'm just upset.

The plane lands, and my mom takes off her seatbelt, and stands up.

"Lyd, help me with the bags."

I stand up and get my bags, but before I can reach them Nate gets them for me.

"Wow, a lot lighter than I thought they would be." He says suprisingly.

"Haha yeah, I'm not that into clothes. I get it from my dad."

"Don't mind me asking, but where is he?" He asks.

The dreadful question. I knew it would come sooner or later. But not here. Not now.

"Um, my dad died last year." I whispered.

"Oh god I'm so sorry for asking uh-"

"No no it's fine," As I cut him off. "He was in a car accident. Drunk drivers. You know."

"Yeah.." He said nervously, while playing with his hands.

"It's fine. Seriously. Don't feel bad." I say while smirking. He smiles back at me.

My mom and I start to walk off the plane, when Nate stops me.

"Hey Lydia, I was wondering, um. Not to sound like a creep or anything, but can I have your number? You know if maybe, you'd like to meet up to uh-"

"Haha yes you can Nate." I say while laughing. He hands me his phone and I write down my number, and he does the same.

"So I'll text you the details later? I've been here before, so I know all of the places. But if you don't want to go with me that's fine I guess because nobody ever wants-"

"Nate," I say while laughing. "I'll talk to you later."

"Okay." He says with a huge smile on his face.

How can somebody so gorgeous be so nervous all the time. Especially around me. I'm not all the great looking anyway.

Me and my mom exit the airport, and haul a cab.

"You know Lyd, this might actually be fun. The weather is nice, and the scenery is beautiful." She says while looking around with an amused look on her face.

"I guess." I say while the cab pulls up.

My mom puts her bags in the car, while I get in to take a seat.

"So where you going?" The driver asks.

"Adairsville." I say.

"Oh my." He says strangely.

"What..?"

"What school are you attending?" He asks.

"West Ville High." I say.

"Oh.. Did you hear about wha-"

"We're going to Adairsville." My mom interrupts.

"Sure thing." He says while looking back at me in the mirror.

I wanted to ask him what happened, but I just ignored it, because it probably was nothing.

He starts to drive while my phone rings.

It's Nate.

"Hello?" I ask while laughing.

"Uh hey Lyd. Can I call you that?" He asks.

"Yes, you can call me whatever you'd like Nate." I say while giggling.

"Okay so Lyd, If you're not doing anything later tonight, I was wondering if you would like to go with me to get something to eat. Only if you'd like to though." He says, like I'd say no.

"Nate of course. Just text me the address, and I'll be on my way." I say, realizing I have a huge smile on my face. I quickly hide it before my mom notices.

"Well, I'll see you then." He says.

"Okay bye." I say while hanging up.

It's my first day here and I've already made a friend. That's a huge surprise. Usually it takes 3 months for me to make my first friend. Well maybe because I'm so sarcastic to everyone who tries to talk to me. With Nate it's different. He's different. There's just something about him, and I don't know what it is.

"Okay here we go." The driver says, while pulling into the lot of our new house.

"Thank you." My mom says while handing him the money.

"Wow." I say, not intentionally out loud, but who cares. This house is beautiful. Surrounded by green grass and flowers. The house is white, with black shutters, and a large front porch. It's just like the ones you see in movies. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, but beautiful.

I get out of the cab, not bothering to help my mom get the bags because the driver is helping, and head towards the house.

"Wait Lyd," My mom says. "Here's the keys." She throws the keys at me, and continues to get the bags.

I sprint up to the front door and open it, to be amazed by the huge stair case.

I hate the fact that I'm thousands of miles away from Daisy, but I love the fact that I'll be doing it in a nice house.

My mom comes in with the bags along with the driver, and has the same amazed look on her face.

"Wow Lydia, do you like it?" She asks.

"I love it." I say running up the stair case.

I run around each hall, to find a room, but all of them are too dark and big. I walk around to the last hall, and see a room in the far back, that's blocked off from the rest of the house. I walk towards the door and open it. It has huge windows on the walls, and is extremly bright. I love it.

My mom walks into the room and stares. She must like it also.

"Wow." She says while chuckling. "This room is.. bright."

"Yeah, I like it, though." I say while walking to look out the window.

"You sure you'll be able to sleep in here? I mean, It's.. You know what. It's whatever you want." She says, cutting herself off. She walks over to the window with me, and looks out.

"At least the view is gorgeous." She says.

"Yeah." I say.

In the back, there is a huge garden, which my mom wont touch, because she hates dirt. So I know I have the garden all to myself. There is also a lake in the far back, surrounded by trees.
