GARROTH'S POV
"Oh, crap!" I say, realizing that I forgot to tell Sky and the others something.
Laurance sighs and leans back in his chair, "What now Garroth?"
I stand up, "I forgot to tell Sky that Lady Aphmau will be seeing them later. I'm gonna go and tell them now. I'll be back," he groans and throws his head back, "oh don't be such a child Laurance. It's not like I'm making you clean the guard tower while I'm gone."
"I know, I just don't feel like being...alone. What's wrong with me today? I've been feeling really..alone," he says, furrowing his eyebrows.
I chuckle, "No one will ever know what's going on in that head of yours. Just go to sleep okay?" Laurance nods and tries to get out of the chair, but ends up rolling out of the chair and onto his face. Oh Irene, what are we going to do with him?
"Hey, Gar?" A muffled voice says from the other side of the table. I hum in responce, "do you think I could eat a....what was I saying?"
Not even bothering to help him up, I turn around and walk away. Laurance and I had gone back to the guard tower after Dante left with Sky and his friends. We scored some root beer from Dale and had a few drinks. Laurance had 6 and I only had 2. Now, he's very drunk and has been acting like a...Dale.
When I open the door Dante's there, his arm raised and his hand in a fist, about to knock. I sigh, "Dante, how many times have we been over this? You don't have to knock. Just walk right in," I pat his shoulder and he puts his arm down hesitantly. "You're one of us now, Bro."
He blushes and looks down, "Thanks, Garroth." I nod and give him a small smile. I walk past him, leaving him to find Laurance for himself. As I pass the plaza I see Lady Aphmau speaking to a merchant who was passing by.
Rays of sunlight beam through leaves in the trees behind her, making her glow. Streams of her ebony hair flow lightly in the wind. Her amber eyes glitter, reminding me of a sunset. Her full pink lips shape her words. Her skin, as smooth as porcelain. Her hips sway as she walks towards me—wait what? She's walking towards me?
"Garroth are you okay? You're very..red. Do you have a fever? Are you sick? Do you need the day off? Because I can give you the day off of you ne—" she says, worry etched into her voice.
I cut her off, "I'm fine, my lady. Thank you for your concern."
She giggles, "Of course, Garroth. Why wouldn't I be worried? You're my friend and my head guard, I need you and so does everyone else. If you were sick, it wouldn't be very kind of me to make you work, now would it?"
I grin, "No, I guess it wouldn't," I sigh, "there you go again Lady Aphmau."
She cocks her eyebrow, "'There I go again', what?"
"You're always putting your people before you. It's not a common trait to come across in a lord..selflessness."
She puts her hand on my shoulder, "What kind of lord would I be if I didn't take care of my people? The villagers are the ones who run the village once you think about it. I may be the lord, but I can only have so much authority." She puts her hand by her side and walks further down the path, turning around 12 steps ahead, "You coming or not?"
I gulp and jog to her side. She sighs and we continue walking. "Look around you Garroth," she says, gesturing to the many people and homes around us. "What do you see? I know I sound like one of those deep, spiritual characters in a book but just tell me. What do you see when you look around this quaint little village?"
I sigh, "I see Brendan and Kawaii~Chan and Donn—"
"Ah! Stop right there. Go back to Brendan. Look at him, Garroth." She says, cutting me off. We stop walking.
I look out onto the wheat feild, "He's collecting wheat."
"And..?"
"And putting it into a crate."
She scoffs, "Well, I see a farmer. I see a large wheat field which would take hours to harvest. And yet, half of the field has been harvested. When I take a good look at that farmer I see sweat and labored breathing. He's been working that field all by himself and he's still going. When I look at that field I see wooden crates that are overflowing with wheat scattered all over. He did all of that, Garroth. He did all of that so Kawaii~Chan could keep on baking her bread. He did that so I could feed Levin and Malachi. He did that for us."
She continues walking down the path, "A village is made of hard working people that strive to play their part and help others with theirs." She looks me in the eye, "A village is made of...us." She stretches her arms out and spins in a circle.
I nod and follow her as she continues walking, "Lady Aphmau, are you ready to see our guests?"
She stops and sighs, "Um...yeah no."
I tilt my head to the side, "Was that a yes or a no?"
She turns towards me, "Yea—no! Wait, yes! But..no. But..yes." She groans.
"So...that's a yes. Let's go," I say while starting my way to the guest houses. Lady Aphmau jogs to catch up with me and looks down as we walk.
ROSS'S POV
Hmmm.....I'm not a sloth. I'm a narwhal. I'm a narwhal. I'm a...human! I'm a human in a narwhal sweater. Hehehehe...narwhal.
I wonder what Aph is doing. I miss her, we all do. We were all taken by surprise when we didn't find her in her room on her birthday. We had all worked on getting a special present for her. It was a gold locket with a picture of all of us inside. The present was Max's idea, and we all scraped together as much as we could spare to pay for the locket.
Aphmau had given Max a certain amount of gold and diamonds. It was like a rich people allowance. They didn't live in a castle. No, the castle was in the center of the kingdom. They lived in a beautiful oak wood house on top of a hill, in one of the villages surrounding our beautiful kingdom of—
"Hey, Ross! We're trying to figure out what to say when we see Aphmau. What do you think we should go with?" Max asks me.
APHMAU'S POV
I'm not ready. I'm not ready to see them. Especially him....I thought I was. I thought I was ready, but I guess not. I'm....not ready.
A quick excuse comes to mind and I turn to Garroth, "Hey, I gotta go feed my cat."
"Bu—" I don't hear what he says as I run away from him.
When I get to my house I rush upstairs and look in my body length mirror. The outfit I'm wearing is the tank-top and shorts that I was wearing when I first came to Phoenix Drop. I can't go see them like this! It'll look like I haven't changed since the last time I saw them. Let's see what I have in my closet.
I look through the large collection of clothes (most given to me by Cadenza) and find the perfect outfit....
..."This will do just fine."

So, I'm not going to put Aarmau as a ship but I am going to introduce Aaron to the story, and he will have feelings for Aphmau but unless I get at least 5 requests for Aarmau, I'm going to keep them friends. Also, I'm in a K-pop faze. And I'm obsessed with BTS. Jimin is amazing. 🤗
