Two Steps Forward, One Step Back (ON HOLD)

Chapter 3

Jayden's POV

I woke up at 6:30 for the second day of school. All I wanted was the second day to be better than the first. I walked downstairs trying to avoid my mom. I snook into the kitchen as quietly as I could and grabbed a box of cereal. I opened the top of the box and poured it straight into my mouth like I was drinking it. My dad walked into the kitchen. "Hey dad." I said closing the box and putting it back in the pantry.

"Morning son." He replied. I walked back upstairs and collapsed on my bed. I really didn't want to go to school today. My mother walked in my room with a laundry basket full of cloths in her hands. "Aren't you suppose to be at school?!" "Mother it doesn't start till-" "get your ass up and get ready!" She yelled. "Okaaaay. Sheesh." I said under my breath. "What was that." My mom asked angrily. "I said ok mother." She squinted her eyes at me and walked out the door.

I got up and got ready for the day. I threw my backpack onto my back and ran out the door before my mom could catch me and I started walking to school. I only live about five houses down from Dani and her family. She absolutely hates me I know it. All I could think about on my way to school was her.

Dani's POV

It was a very VERY long day just staying in my bed doing nothing. I was alone at the house because mom was at work. I was so happy when David came home from school. I had someone to talk to. I heard him throw his book bag on the floor and run up the stairs. He jumped on my bed and landed in a sitting position. " how was school?" I asked him. " Shitty like every day." He smiled "How are you?" " Uuuhh, I'm a lot better now I guess.i still hurt like shit though." "Do you need anything?" He asked as he stood back up. "No thanks" "ok want to watch some tv downstairs?" "I don't think I'll be able to walk downstairs. I can barely move and I feel like throughout up."

I slowly swung my feet if of my bed so I was in a sitting position. Pain flooded my stomach and I laid back down as fast as I could. "I'll carry you." David said. He picked me up bridal style just like Jayden had done yesterday. He carried me all the way down the stairs and placed me carefully one the couch. I winced in pain as he did. "Are you okay?" He asked "Yeah,yeah I'm fine" I closed my eyes for a second and took a few deep breaths. "What'd ya want to watch?" He asked me as he sat down on the opposite side of the couch I was on. We watched some Teen Wolf that we had recorded. I had a huge crush on Dylan O'Brien.

"Thank you, David." "For what?" "Being the best brother in the world. I don't know what I would do without you." The doorbell rang and David pop up off of the couch to open it. "May I help you?" I heard David say. "Is Dani here?" I heard the person at the door ask. Who would want me? "Uh, yeah she's kinda sick right now so-" "Can I talk to her? Please?" "Why? Are you just gonna beat her up? Huh? Cuz all you are is trouble." David answered. "No, I um, just wanted to make sure she's ok. She wasn't at school today." Then I knew exactly who it was- Jayden. "David! Let him in!" I yelled from across the room so he could hear me.
