Shame to the Light

Tomi PoV

We ran to our destination. I couldn't control my angry looking at the build in which my brother was traped in. We didn't speak at all till we got there. There was no reason to say a word. All that was on our minds at the time was our family. Eachother, our little boys.

"Wait. How did you know their location? Are you even sure-?" I looked back at the bickering Derrick and shot a redden glare. He gulped and nodded.

"The longer we talk,the more likely they are to die." At that moment an alarm went off. I grabbed Derrick's wrist powering through metal doors like nothing. Derrick could bearly keep up I, but I didn't slow down.

Mottomo PoV

I could hear shouts and orders being spited out. I gave a worried glance at Deren. He just smiled at me. A loud beeping sound now being heard throughout the whole entire building. Deren clenched his teeth,roughly grasping his hand in mine. I squeezed it tightly looking up into his eyes.

"Let's go. " My face was covered in shock as Deren spoke. I was chain to him as we ran hand in hand. Holding onto his hand as if I let go-I would loose him forever. I took a glimpse at the Deren behind. Men in dark purple and blue were on our trail. I gave his hand a squeeze. He weakily tighting his fingers around mine. I ran faster turning a sharp turn.

Seeing the clostest open room door I push us into it. The door automatically shut closed behind us. I let out a heavy breathe heaeing footsteps run past us. I could hear slight coughing from Deren. I must have pushed him too far. I switch on a ceiling light. Deren was hunched over trying to hold back his coughs. I step closer to him holding out my arms. It was dim but bright enough to see were I was going.

"Deren-?!?"

"You're breathe really stinks."

I frooze in place. Wait what? Is he really trying to make a joke right now,or is he messing with me? I gave him a confused look. He tightened his hand around his mouth.

"Are you really having a moment right at this moment,now?" I whispered yelled.

He gave me a look. The look. The one where you know his about to do somthing he'll regret.

"Hahaha-YOU....your face!"

Laughter,he's laughing. But I couldn't help but grin. He always know how to cheer me up. My one weakness,he's kitty goofy laughter. Soon I was chuckling along with him. Dang it, Deren we're supposed to be serious.

"Shh.." With that the mood began to turn heavier than before. I could hear foot steps getting closer to the door from the outside. I quickly turned off the single light backing away from the door. Which wasn't that much. Deren stood in front of me in fighting stance. I try to hold him back. He just gave me a reassuring glance. A few seconds of silent past by before I sensed Deren relax a bit. He shouldn't be the one protecting me right now. Not while his injured.

My gaze fell down to where his wound was.This is all my fault,I dragged the only person who evered love me down. Down to the deepest hells that he will see,he probably won't hate me. He's been blindy by the bright and happy memories we've shared together,to see the real me. And for a moment-just a slipt fraction of a second-I wished I didn't exist.

The door teared right open. It was Tomi and that jerk. I ran into Tomi's arms and Deren limbed near his brother's side.

"I didn't know you had a heart?" Deren joked weakly lying on Derricks shoulder. I let go of Tomi to look around. It was dark and quiet. I could see a open door down a hall. Tomi came from behind me.

"Let's head out." Tomi yelled back to the other. I followed him out.

4 days later Deren was back on his feet. As protective and silly as ever. But his laughs no longer filled me with joy or light...

"Is somthing wrong Mottomo? You seem so down." He's worried about me again. Again?

"I think I'm sorry." He continued speaking in a more happy tone. I quickly looked up at him in surprise. No it's not your fault.

"No-no... I-IT'S I...n.." Why can't I say those words. Why am I?

"I know it's not over yet. And I know you're scared and confused. But I'm here with you, so don't be so shameful about it." He stood up from the grass whiping the dust of his pants.

"Guy?!? Come on I just dared Leon to kiss DEREN'S BROTHER!" Kathryn, as all ways,is back to her loud and proud self. Not that I doubted that would ever change. But she tents to be super quiet around other poeple now,and Lily is just the opposite. She's still a bit quiet around us, but when around strangers she tents to speak up for Kathryn.

"Hold his pants on before we get there." Deren yelled back but not as loud. He held a hand out to me. I hesitatly grab it.

And for more than a fraction of a second. I wanted to die.
