Dakota's eyes fluttered open

Dakota's eyes fluttered open. The last thing she could remember was her cousin, Halle, hitting her in the head— causing her to black out. Dakota's head was still sore and pained from the blow, but Dakota shrugged it out with a mischievous smirk.

She looked around and noticed that she was laying in a soft bed, a familiar bed. It was the bed of the motel she had stayed in Mystic Falls, Virginia months ago.

She had been following the original vampires around, observing their behaviors. When Niklaus had caught sight of her, he found her attractive— and then two slept together. But after that night, Dakota's work was done— it had to be, for now her face was far too recognizable to stay concealed in public.

"Hello?" Dakota shouted, waiting for a response. After a few moments of utter silence, Dakota climbed out of the bed and began to stalk around the motel. She walked to the front office and saw that no one was there. She walked up and down the streets and still saw that no one was present. She looked into the windows of houses to find them empty as well. She was puzzled as to where everybody went.

Dakota sighed and knew that it had to have something to do with Halle finding out what she was doing to that little lab rat of hers. Dakota attempted to explain to Halle that the girl was an orphan, and needed to get some superpowers to be able to defend herself out on the street— but Halle wasn't having it.

Halle was Dakota's cousin, but they spent so much time together that they felt like sisters. Dakota knew everything about Halle, even her darkest secrets. However, Halle didn't know one thing about Dakota. Dakota did tend to be more secretive so that she could get away with most of her mischief.

Dakota wandered into a vacant gas station. She was humming some song she had heard on the radio the other day when she began rummaging through the food in the aisles. As Dakota was grabbing a boatload of chips, a pair of cold hands slid onto her shoulders.

Dakota jumped in shock. "Holy shit." She cursed as she spun on her heel. Her piercing blue eyes met a pair of calming blue orbs.

The eyes she saw belonged to a man. "I know, I get that a lot." The man smirked down at Dakota.

"I bet you do." Dakota raised a curious brow at him.

The man grab Dakota's hand and placed a tender kiss on it. "Pleasure to meet you, Ms.?" The man insinuated a question asking for her name.

"Dakota Kane." Dakota smirked, slightly blushing at the gesture. She had never been treated like such a lady by anyone before; then again, she didn't even treat herself like a lady.

"Well, Dakota, you should now that I'm Kai." Kai ran his tongue along his bottom lip.

Dakota's eyes carefully analyzed Kai's outfit and noticed that he wasn't dressed quite nicely. "Sorry, I didn't think I was going to get any guests— I have never seen anyone around here." Kai apologized for his comfortable attire.

Dakota waved off his apology, finding his pair of joggers and a t-shirt quite cute. "And where the hell are we, exactly?" Dakota asked, looking out the large window.

"A prison world, created by the Gemini coven for me— well, I guess you too now." Kai shrugged, then began walking away.

"Prison world?" Dakota asked, following Kai out of the store.

Kai nodded. "You know, the place where supernatural people that have done bad things go to." He briefly explained.

Dakota groaned, knowing that her coven must've had something to do with her expulsion into this world. "Why can't they just hop off of my case?" Dakota whined, continuing to follow Kai around.

Kai exited the gas station and walked mindlessly down the streets. Dakota followed silently, observing the vacant town— thinking about what she was going to do now that she had no one, except for Kai, to play tricks on. Tricks— that's all she thought her torments were, games.

Dakota smirked mischievously and skipped up to Kai, placing a hand on his chest to keep him from walking anyone. "What do you want?" Kai asked, puzzled as to why this girl he had just met— after being alone in this prison for six months— had stopped him from exploring.

Dakota traced a finger from his sharp jaw down to his toned chest. She bit her lip and looked at Kai with sultry eyes. Kai's eyes returned Dakota's lustful glimmer and he pulled Dakota close, running a hand down her side.

"You sure are quick, Dakota. But I don't mind." Kai whispered lowly to Dakota's as he pushed her curly hair behind her ear.

Dakota chuckled, readying herself to play a little game on Kai, and neared her lips to his. Their lips were only millimeters away from each other when Dakota whispered her fiery words.

"Incendia." She chuckled evilly as she stepped away from Kai, watching with great joy as Kai was lit afire. Dakota's blue eyes glistened as she watched the entertainment; Kai running for his life to put himself out with some nearby water source.
