That is what's taking over me right now.

It's the reason I'm in this state.

It's eating me up alive.

It's the reason why I can't be happy right now.
It's the reason why I'm feeling this huge burden on my shoulders.
It's the reason there is this knot in my lungs that's not letting me breath properly.
It's been 2 days Brie, get your head together.
I know, but that smirk on his face.
A soft knock on the door wakes me up from my thoughts.
"Brie come down stairs, your father and I want to talk to you." My mom said. Talk to me. I have a bad feeling about this. Anyways, I go down stairs and my parents are sitting on the kitchen island. I take a seat across them. Their faces tell me this is gonna be a long lecture.
"Your result came back, the one you did on your first day to see if you'll pass to grade 12." My Mom says, motioning me with her eyes on the envelope.
The envelope.
I slowly take it in my hands, my sweaty, nervous hands. That's it, it's over I'm not going into a good university, I'm not gonna get a good job, I'll be homeless on the streets.
Chill Brie, your overthinking.
But all that changes when I see my results. I look up to my mom and Dad. Their looking at me with hope in their eyes. Off course because the envelope was sealed.
"I passed, I got a 94," I whisper. Both my parents come in and give me a hug.
"We know you would do it!" My Mom exclaims.
"That's why I got my princess a little something from daddy," my dad said as he handed me a box which was gift rapped.
"No way, it's not what I think it is? Right?" I question. I open the box and a brand new iPhone is waiting there for me. I gasp and give them a big hug.
"Your the best parents ever!" I scream then run to my room to tell Maya.
After filling Maya up on everything, from the beginning till now, she told me she also passed.
"So what do you want to do?" Maya asks.
"I think I'm going to sleep, cuz we have school tomorrow," I say, yawning.
"Ya, ok, bye!" Maya says.
"Bye," I say as I am hanging up. I get ready for bed. I mean getting ready like taking a shower and wearing my silk shorts and my white top. As soon as I lay in bed,I feel like drifting to sleep.

In the morning, I wake up, I don't take a shower because I took it last night. I throw on some black skinny jeans and a off the shoulders denim top, with my nikes. Again, I know.
I go down stairs and surprisingly, no one is downstairs. I shrug it off and wait for Maya to come pick me up. After about 5 minutes, I hear a honk at the door and stand up and go outside my house. I run up to Maya's car, but half way there I realize I forgot to lock the door. I run back to the door, lock it, and run back to Maya's car with my bag.
"Hey bestie, got you breakfast from iHop, hope you enjoy," Maya says as she gives me the breakfast. I grab it and munch into it knowing I didn't eat anything for dinner last night.
"Not even a Thank you, that's just cold." Maya says smiling shaking head her. I slap her on her cheek, and continue eating.
"Hey! No disturbing the driver while he or she is driving!" Maya scolds me. We both break into a pit of laughter. My mom and Dad are not home most of the time, because they are always traveling the world for business. So you can say I'm alone most of the time. They came home for vacation and I think they left again this morning. Sigh. That's why I have Maya with me.
We reach school and Maya parks her car in the parking lot. We step out and walk towards the school.
"Hey Brie! Wait up!" I hear someone calling me. I'm pretty sure I've heard that voice. I look at Maya's face and she looks ....... confused? I don't blame her cuz I know mine is the same. In a matter of seconds, Jake is standing in front me.
"Uh, h-hi?" I manage to say or question or stutter? Ugh! Brie what are you doing with your life?
"Hey, I just wanted to say that maybe your free this weekend like after school?" Jake questions me. I feel Maya physically tense but I give her a light squeeze on her hand.
"Why?" I question my voice coming a bit harsh than I expected.
"Just like a date? I just want to get to know you." Jake says. I think, yes I think.
"I'll see," I say as I walk away with Maya. Once standing beside my locker, Maya speaks.
"You cannot, and I mean it, go with Jake on a date. You know what's gonna happen-" I cut her off short.
"I know what's gonna happen, that's why I said I'll see." I say as I close my locker and face Maya.
"You're smart, Brie, I know that. Just please be careful in what you choose." Maya says to me. I nod and we hug then we separate our ways.
Jake's P.O.V:
" I just asked her out," I say to Jay, lighting up a cigarette in my hands.
" Dude your just gonna play her like you usually do with every girl you ask out." Jay says as he backs away a little. Maybe because he doesn't like smoking ? Whatever.

Jay and I do our bro hug and part our ways and I go into history class. Look who's luck is shining. Mine. I spot Brie, doing something on her phone. I smirk, taking a seat right next to her. She jumps in surprise and looks at me. I keep smirking.
"Hey," she says quietly.
"Hi again, and have you thought about our date?" I question her. She tenses suddenly.
"No," is what she says until the teacher comes in.
"Good morning class, hope you had a really nice weekend." Out history teacher says as he begins doing sh*t on the board.
The bell rings and everyone stands up and leaves. A small voice stops me and I turn around to see it's Brie.
"Wait!" She says. I turn around.
"I'll go on that date with you." She says, avoiding my eyes. I nod and smirk.
"Pick you up at 7 after school. Be ready." I tell her as I leave.
Brie's P.O.V:
"What the freaking hell were you thinking Brie?" Maya exclaims angry and annoyed. After telling her everything. We were sitting on the same bench where we usually sit on the ground, where the basketball team plays.
"That's right cuz I wasn't thinking," I say as I huff.
"Okay just be careful, ok? And wear something ugly," Maya tells me.
"What?! Why?!" I look at her.
"So he thinks your ugly and won't use you as a one night stand," Maya tells me simply.
"I will wear something nice, not ugly." I say to her.
"Fine, But we'll go dress shopping today." Maya tell me. I nod.
At the mall, after school.
"How about this one?" Maya asks me showing a dress that barely covers anything. I shake my head no and smile. That's why I love Maya. Not!! I'm joking.
"How about this?" Maya asks me.
"That's perfect! " I say with wide eyes. (Pic of the dress above). Then we pick out some high heels. (Pic above with the dress).We purchase the dress and head home. Maya drops me off and we bid good bye to each other.
I walk inside, only to head upstairs and sleep.

My eyes open and suddenly I look at the digital clock that reads 1 am. I've been sleeping for almost 6 hours. Deciding I won't sleep again, I do my homework. I know, I'm crazy, so sue me.
I look back at the clock and it reads 6 am. Wow! I just decide for the time to pass by so I wait till seven.
