I spent the entire night watching the Twilight saga movies and can't believe that I've actually wasted my time.
There are people who commented that books are usually better than the movies of the same title, and I hope that it is the case for Twilight. Unfortunately, I wasn't resistant to sparkling vampires and dreamy-eyed maidens, and caught myself a few times choking in exasperation whenever the vampires appeared. If vampires sparkled like crystals or gems in the sunlight, I'm sure my talent will shine brighter in the industry.
I ended up falling asleep right after the scene when the pregnant fan girl of vampires broke her spine trying to pick up her cup full of blood. Gross, I had thought before my eyes drooped close.
When I wake up, the sun rays are invading my room through the windows. I jump to my feet and hastily close the curtains, my eyes straining at the television. Somehow the movie had replayed by itself after it ended and I am watching the same scene before I drifted off to sleep. I decide to move on to the last part of the movie when a knock on the door startles me.
"Come in," I say without thinking and the door cracks open. There is a sniffle of laughter and I turn to look who it is. "What are you laughing at?" I growl, opening the DVD cover.
"So you're a sucker for romance vampire movies." Souji steps in, his eyes at the screen. The girl named Belle or Bella was sent to an operating room and the camera zooms in and out of the actors' faces around the table.
I decide to ignore the guy and click on the button that ejects the disc. I can hear it stops spinning and out comes the discus. I grab it and place it back to its cover, silently hoping that Souji will leave soon.
"You father told me about your dreams."
For a moment I think he is talking about my odd nightmares. When I meet that cocky smirk of his, I realise what he meant. My dreams of being an actress.
I feel my face turning red. "And is that any of your business?" I hiss, cursing my father for being a big mouth. "No. So get the hell out of my room." I swear to myself that I will have to talk to my father about telling outsiders my ambition. Especially to that Okita Souji.
"No it's not. But it is interesting to know. To think that a rude, feisty--" Souji stops abruptly for I had stood up and stomped onto his foot without warning. His painful expression makes me crack a smile and I tilt my head up so that I can look down on his crouching figure.
"Thank you for the compliment. Now get out before I get Yamada-san to drag you out." I stick out my tongue in triumph and Souji's eyes darken in...some kind of emotion.
"Of course, my dear to-be-niece." His smile is not fooling me--he's telling me to be careful. "I shouldn't intrude on you further, but your father has asked me to tell you to meet him at his study." He turns to leave and chuckles.
After staring daggers at his retreating back, I go back to my movie. I pop the last disc into the DVD player and go downstairs to meet my father. I reluctantly knock on his door and open it, knowing that it cannot be good news. Whatever that Souji is happy about could not be a good thing for me.
"There you are. You didn't appear for breakfast so I reckon that you must be sleeping in." My father gestures to the seat in front of his table. I sit down and watch as he rummages around his drawers searching for something. When he found it, he pulls out a few papers and places it on the desk.
My eyes skim through the first page in disbelief and I snatch the papers off the table. "'Transfer application of Hakuou High'?" I squeak. "What is this? I want to continue studying at my old school!"
My father shakes his head slowly. "I'm afraid not. That boy who pushed you down the stairs before still seems like a big threat to you, so Mitsu and I have decided to transfer you into Souji-kun's school."
I almost fall off my chair. "Souji!? No way am I going to his school! I don't want to see his arrogant face around in school too!"
His eyes so similar to mine glint warningly. "Manners, Akamine Jun. Anyway, I have already submitted the forms and documents to the school, and you will go to Hakuou High tomorrow for lessons." My face shows hurt, and he sighs. "We didn't want to do this, but I thought that you would do something bad so that you will not go to that new school."
He is right, I think to myself, surprised that my once-so-distant father actually understands me well. I would probably run to Adachi Daisuke's house and hide there. Come to think of it, he is currently overseas according to Yamada. No wonder he hasn't been texting me after my release from the hospital.
"But...my drama club," I say weakly, slumping back against the backrest. "They need me."
"No they don't. They are already the most prominent in the nation and I trust that they will continue to be." My father clears his throat. "Fortunately, Hakuou High has a drama club too."
Speechless, I shake my head and stand up. My father watches me as I exit the room, my eyes burning from the silent tears.

I stand in front of the welcoming gates of Hakuou High School. Students are entering the school, chattering among themselves. I stare after them, frowning as a strange feeling is bottling up in my stomach.
"Enough gawking at the gates. Go on in," Souji says emotionlessly. I wonder for a while if he is still sour about my stepping on his toes but doubt it. He doesn't seem like the petty sort.
I take the first step through the gates nervously, feeling a familiar shiver on my skin. It has been so long, but I recognise it to be the unmoving stares of the other students. I try my best to ignore it when I hear someone calling my name.
"Jun, is that you?"
I turn around and almost drop my bag in shock. "Yukimura Chizuru? What are you doing here?"
In response she smiles brightly at me. "I've heard of the rumours of a new student, but it seems like it was the truth after all. It's so great to have a female friend in school!"
It is then I realise something. I glance around us quickly and gasp in horror. "Are we the only girls in this entire school!?"
