So it al started when my mom was calling my name to wake me up when u woke up she put a blindfold on me and told me she had a surprise. So she lead me out side and I heard the jingling of a collar kinda like a bell. My mom took the blind fold off there was a leash going around the corner like a snake. My mom told me to follow it. So I did and when I crept around the corner out popped a like husky head! She barked with excitement then ran up and liked my face. I laugh I kinda felt like she was tickling me.
That night I asked my mom what her name should be and we looked up names for bold and fearless girl huskies and the last one the came up was Shasta. I called the name out loud and the puppy popped her head up and looked at me. I looked at my mom and said, "Shasta it is!" Then I hoped on the floor and started playing with Shasta. I have never felt a bond with a dog like ours. I felt like we were inseparable. That night about like 12:34 I started hearing the sirens go off my mom ran into my room and grasped me and Shasta and went down stairs to the basement. My mom checked her phone to see if a tornado actually touched down. She says that there was a tornado that touched down and its very very massive. She said that they will keep the sirens on until the funnel the clouds completely disappears. The next morning I woke up in my dad's arms. I opened my eyes and looked around me. Just to see nothingness. I didn't really know what to think because I have never been in a tornado. After all I'm only 11. Oh! By the way I don't think I introduced myself I'm Riley! I live in Joplin, Oklahoma. I'm 11 years old. My dad and mom had 3 children. Jaxe who is 21 and lives in la. Logan who is still in college he is 19. And me I'm the only girl. I go to farren elementary school and my brothers both go to OSU. Anyways back to reality. Mom sees my wake up I look at her holding Shasta in her arms I look all over my body for injuries and notice that I have my shoes on now. My mom looks at me and says, "You can stand if you want to."I look at her with a frightened look. She looks at me and nods "It's going to be ok sweetie." She gets a notification from the Joplin weather team and they are saying that it is the biggest tornado that has hit ok maybe even the us. It was a EF5 tornado.
