Poland.

It's still snowing. I've never been so cold. Matka's getting worse. The cold isn't helping. At least were eating, though. I walked down to the train station to go and work in the mines. Three boys and a girl died the other day. I wonder how long I'll last.

When I came home, the lekarz was with matka again.

I didn't pray with siostra tonight. I gave up on god a long time ago. He should've helped us.

We know Matka won't last long. It's only a matter of time before we're calling the lekarz argain. I try to tell my siostra that it'll be okay, but I'm not sure how long I can keep up that lie. She's already working as a drug runner.

I'll write tomorrow. Matka's calling. I need to go to the store and buy more food. I'll then stop by the woods and collect timber. We can't afford store wood anymore. We'll manage. Barely, but we'll manage.

-Doh'hal.

When Raven came back from the woods, she found her mother dead and her sister with a knife in her chest. She ran away from her life and lived by herself for three years. She was seven years old.
