Phantom pov
I had dragged the skeleton brothers with me to Base Zero. Its where we began the Yellow Hearts, and it had more things secured, locked up, amunition, and other awesome gear than any of the other bases, mainly out of fact we kinda use it for storage these days. It was also the best kept secret in this stupid city, nobody but a Yellow Heart can find the place.
To be honest, my favorite thing to do whenever I had to go here, was to turn on the fucking lights. So many lights. Just made your eyes sparkle and dazzle from the sheer number of the damn things. Like holy hell, I remember putting up the fuckers, but dear God is it still beautiful to see them all turn on. Like, doo, doo, doo. Boom, in a fantastic show of power, let there be light.
I saw the skeletons mouths widen in awe as I proceeded to be annoying and shout out, "And that's how lights should be turned on you lazy bones ass holes!" I let out a maniacal laugh before going over to an old, rickety, fucked up looking elevator.
Ya see, there may be lights up here, and a shit ton of boxes and cargo cases, and some fucking cars, but the real base is down below. Gotta use an elevator to get to it and shit.
And so, I did the most logical thing. I pressed a button,no wait,  I slammed it, like a boss.
With a loud whoosh and a startling clang, the elevator doors opened at an astonishing speed. I heard the skeletons jump in surprise from the loud noise. I chuckled at their reactions.
"Come on ya rats," I told them, giving them all a look of cruel amusement. After all, it's not everyday I get to mess with people, ok, I do, but never in my own own base, unless you count the members of my gang. "What? Despite it's looks, this elevator is perfectly safe. Swear, on my honor." I said it with as much emphasis as I could, trying to unnerve the bastards. It worked, but I could tell they weren't gonna back down, despite their uncertainty in the whole situation. Honestly, I liked that. They were scared, to an extent, but refused to back down, that took guts. Not only to trust their enemy, but to trust that their former enemy wouldn't hurt them. Their senses, their entire bodies must have been screaming to run, not to trust me, not to go into that elevator. And yet, they did.
      They actually trusted me.
      They actually stayed.
They actually went in that elevator.
And as much as I hate to say it, I was impressed.
