"Nice to see you again Luna"
I feel his eyes bore into me. He looked so arrogant. But despite my growing annoyance for him, I still find it hard not be captivated.
I flashed a smile at him.
Since I couldn't think of any good response.
"Girl. You know him? Saan?" I felt Mia gently poking me.
"H-ha? A-ano kasi eh... uhm..."
"We met last week sa Las Vegas. I got in the wrong hospital room. Buti nalang pinoy, kaya hindi masyadong nakakahiya" he said in a more casual way, never wiping that smile off of his handsome face.
The rest of the class laughed with him. Wala namang nakakatawa sa sinabi niya ah? I guess it's his confidence, his charm... that makes every person in this room think that he's cute and easy to get along with.
"Oh. I guess I can leave you alone with them now Mr. Tamayo" paalam ni Miss. Tumango naman si Adrian.
He walked to the white board and started to write his full name.
Infairness ang ganda ng sulat niya ha.
"I'm Adrian Kurt Tamayo. You can call me Adrian, or Kurt. Kayo na bahala. Basta may Sir ayos na ko 'don." tapos narinig kong tumawa ulit ng mahina yung mga classmates ko. Seriously, ano'ng nakakatawa dun?
"Sir?" nakita kong nagtaas ng kamay si Janna.
"Yes?" balik ni Sir Adrian.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" malanding pagkakasabi niya.
Dios Mio, wala man lang bang delikadesa 'tong babaeng 'to?
Natawa naman si Sir sakanya. Pero sumagot parin naman politely. "Ah. Wala.... Wala pa" then nakita kong kinilig si Janna. Sus. Malandi ata talaga.
"Anyway. I'll be Mr. Mendoza's replacement for a month or so. So I hope we'll all get along"
Oh this is going to be an interesting month!

Kurt's POV
Three weeks ago...
"Nana I'll be staying with Tita Shiela. Don't worry about me" I assured her.
"Ok. But make sure na tatawagan mo ko pagdating na pagdating mo dun"
"Oo naman po" Ibababa ko na sana yung phone but I remembered something. "Uhm. Nana? Please always check on Ali. Baka kasi-
"Kurt, I know. Hindi ko siya pababayaan. And besides nandito ang Daddy mo, Jaymie... si Seth"
"Thank you po. I have to go through security now. Bye Nana!"
One week lang naman eh. Wala naman sigurong mangyayari kay Alison. Kung ako lang ang masusunod hindi na 'ko aalis. Kailangan ko lang makipagusap sa buyer ng bahay nila dad.
Imagine, Ali is on coma and hindi man lang maikonsidera yun ng buyer at nagmamadaling bilhin yung property. Kasama ko naman si Tita Shiela eh, nauna na siya 'don. Sa wednesday palang naman yun and Sunday palang ngayon, kailangan ko rin daw magunwind sabi ni Dad.
I arrived at the hotel at exactly 7 pm. I found a note saying that Shiela went to a hotel casino to attend a friend's wedding and asking me to follow her there.
It was 9pm when I arrived at the venue. I got bored so I sneaked out and went to the bar.
May grupo na mukhang nagccelebrate, medyo mukha pa silang bata. Mga 17 or 18 siguro. Di naman ako masyadong matanda sakanila, I'm 22 years old.
Umupo ako sa may counter. Nakaapat na siguro akong bote nung may umupong babae malapit sa akin.
Kasama siya dun sa grupong nagcecelebrate kanina.
The first thing popped in my mind was to know her name and her number.
Why?
I like her.
She's pretty. She actually looks like a doll. She's a bit short but she seems confident and sure with herself.
And more than that... She looks really familiar, I really think I've seen her before.
I composed myself then stood and walked to where she was seated.
"Hi" she looked up and squinted a bit.
"Uhm... Hi?" she looked unsure.
"Uhm... Have we met before? You know, you look kind of familiar..." I can't believe I'm actually using this sobrang gasgas na introduction.
"Seriously? You couldn't come up with a better pick up line?" then she laughed at me.
"No. I'm serious. I swear I think I've seen you before" she looked at me curiously. I just smiled at her.
"Baka sa panaginip mo" she whispered. Oh? Pinoy naman pala eh. Madali na to hehe.
"Siguro. Or baka naman sa pastlife ko. Baka soulmates tayo" then I winked at her.
Tumawa naman siya."Hahaha! You do this all the time?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the shot glass infront of her.
"Do what?" I asked playing innocent.
"Hitting on girls, coming up with a not-so-original pick up line?" ngumiti ulit siya.
I sat beside her, "Well not really, this is actually the first time. And I'm just so thankful it worked" I was talking close- too close actually. I can actually smell her seductive scent.
"What makes you think it worked?" She asked again. Looking straight into my eyes. Oh this kitty-cat loves to play.
"I don't know..." I tilted her chin up and started to lean in. "You tell me". My voice a little deep than I expected. Our gaze locked. Our breath warm on each other's faces. I'm going in for the kill.
"Not so fast loverboy" same time she said this she had put a lime between us and bit it.
I was taken aback for a moment. But then I realized this is the kind of company I need. An exciting one, not those easy girls you get in just a snap.
She took a shot of tequilla then handed one to me which I gladly accepted (libre din to noh, sayang). "So... My Soulmate. Are you alone?" she asked still wearing that gorgeous smile on her face.
"Seriously? You couldn't come up with a better pick up line?" I answered mimicking her expression earlier.
"What?... Hahaha" she laughed again. She's really pretty. "I guess you're rubbing off on me"
"See? I'm not the only one having problems with originality. Uhm. Anyways, I'm alone. How 'bout you?" I still asked though I've seen her earlier with her friends.
"Kasama ko sila" sabay turo sa grupong nagsasayaw sa may gitna. "We're celebrating my birthday"
"Oh... uhm. Happy birthday....?"
"Luna. I'm Luna Arevalo" she held her hand out and I shook it.
"Adrian Tamayo"
"So Adrian. What do you do in life?"
