I didn't hesitate to bring her closer, placing my hands on her waist as she placed hers on my face. My heart sped up abnormally, my lungs deprived of oxygen. The kiss was unexpected, yet I can feel the desperation from both our lips fighting for dominance. Her lips were smooth and plump, which I imagined it would feel. Finally, after how many years of dreaming, I'm finally kissing her.
We both pulled back and stared at her wide eyes. I was suddenly worried by my actions, or her actions as she initiated it. Did she regret it? She shouldn't have, but what if she did? I don't want to make her think that it was a spur of the moment thing. I wanted this, and so did she as I could feel the desperation she gave off from her lips when I kissed her.
"Acacia?" I asked her tentatively, my arms making its way to her arms. "Acacia, say something," I pleaded.
Quickly, her arms enveloped me, her head on my chest and arms around my waist. I sighed in relief before hugging her back, placing my chin on the top of her head, my eyes closed.
"I love you," I whispered. "You know that, right?"
"I know," I heard her whisper back. "Sometimes I wish we'd stop running in circles."
"Me, too," I sighed.
"You know, after this, we're not going back to normal, right?" She asked with a hesitant voice.
"Not yet," I pleaded, hugging her tighter.
She pulled back and gave me a sad smile. "Daniel-"
"Stay with me," I pleaded, grabbing her hands as I placed my forehead against hers. "Just for tonight, please."
Acacia's smile widened before placing a kiss on the corner of my mouth. "Okay."
And that was what we did the whole time. We laughed, we kissed, we talked, we kissed, we danced, we kissed, we ate, we kissed, we drank, we kissed and we kissed. At some point, Lacy started to take pictures of us, the group, and everything we did— from dancing to kissing and eating. Adults looked at us in amusement, reminiscing when they were younger and did the same things we were doing.
It didn't even occur to us when we ended up at the beach, at midnight, skinny dipping.
Everyone immediately took off their heels, dresses, jewelry, shoes, tuxes, coats. Bentley even joined in the fun, even though he was hesitant at first, but after we told him the times we've been skinny dipping, he started to loosen up and took off his watch and clothes. We laughed as our hair became a mess, splashing each other while the cold air made our bodies shiver.
"Hey, I called out to Acacia, grabbing her hand to get her attention. She looked at me with a bright smile on her face, the moon making her eyes twinkle and I couldn't help but smile as well. "Let's get out of here," I jerked my head to the shore, wanting to spend some time with Acacia alone.
A shy smile appeared on her face before I led her to the shore. I kept my self control and turned my back on her as she put back her clothes. When she finished, I grabbed her hand and led her towards my car with her heels on her hand. No one noticed as we crept away from the group, the sounds of their laughter fading as we went away.
"Where are we going?" Acacia asked, keeping a tight grip on my hand, the other holding her dress to keep it from getting ruined.
"I don't know, where do you want to go?" I asked.
"Home," she said, before adding, "with you."
We both stopped in our tracks as I turned to face her. I was shocked by her response that I had to look at her if she was serious. Her eyes was down on the floor, not daring to look at mine. I lifted her chin using my fingers and gently pressed my lips on hers. I admit, I am slightly addicted to her lips. A hint of a smile was on my face. The confidence she radiated off from before was gone and now replaced with shy smiles and kisses. I don't think I can get enough of her.
"I'm leaving tomorrow," Acacia whispered with a frown on her face, her hands hugging herself. I noticed the slight shiver of her body and quickly placed my blazer on her shoulder, which she hugged immediately before thanking me. "Is it all right if we could spend the night together. Just this once."
I gave her a tentative look, knowing what was going to happen once I went home with her.
"What about your family?" I asked, unsure.
"They're staying at the hotel right now, they wanted to spend some time together before mom and dad go to their honeymoon," she explained. Slowly, she placed her palms on my cheeks and kissed me. "Please say yes," she asked with pleading eyes once she pulls back.
It was obvious I couldn't say no to her, so I pecked her lips before grabbing her hand and led her towards my car. She sighed in relief once she settled down on the passenger seat, either from the heat or the fact that we were going to spend the night together. Either way, I was content.
The ride to her house was silent. Our hands were intertwined as I did not want to let her go. There were times where I'd sneak a glance at her, or I'd bring her hand near my lips to kiss it. Sometimes, I'd squeeze her hand just to make sure that this was real and I wasn't dreaming.
Reaching her house, I reached for my duffel bag full of my clothes that I always keep in my car when I have basketball practices. Grabbing her hand again, we reached her house and I patiently waited for her to open her door.
She was nervous, I could tell, from the way she was fumbling her keys into the keyhole, or the fact that she kept hugging my blazer tighter as she keeps pushing her hair away from her face and the way she kept rubbing her elbows with her palms. I had to hold her by the waist before I felt her instantly relax under my touch and finally pushed the door open.
Acacia grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers together before leading me upstairs to her room. I caught her take a glance at me, and I flashed a small smile at her before she nervously smiled back.
I was the last to go into her room and I quietly shut the door behind me. Acacia's shoulders tensed with the sound of the door closing. Slowly, I hugged her by the waist and placed my chin on her shoulders. I felt her sigh and leaned closer to my chest, her hands on mine.
"Do you really want to do this?" I whispered in her ear.
She grabbed my hand and placed her lips on the back, lingering there for a second before leaning her head back to look at me. "If we don't do this, I'll regret it," she answered bashfully as she craned her neck and looked up through her lashes.
I turned her around and placed my hands on her waist with my forehead against hers. "If you want me to stop, I'll stop, you hear me?"
"Okay," she nodded her head.
"I'm serious, Acacia, I don't want you to go through this if you feel forced or uncomfortable."
"Daniel, you're talking to me as if this is my first time," Acacia giggled. A small smile tugged on my lips. "If I didn't want you to do it with me, I wouldn't have let you in my room."
"I just want to make sure," I smiled at her.
She sighed before placing her hands on my face, kissing my lips slowly and tenderly. I pulled her closer before coaxing her mouth to open for me, slipping my tongue inside and explore her mouth. Her arms wound around my neck as I placed a hand on her neck for easier access.
