(AN: This chapter is pretty long, but it's very important!)
" Happy birthday Lexi! " Olivia yelled, bursting into Alexis' room with streamers.
" Geez Liv, next time check if I'm not in here too. " Noah groaned as he sat up from her bed. Olivia took back her excitement as she saw her and Noah snuggled up in bed together.
" Sorry, didn't know the party started out early for you guys. " She smirked at the couple in front of her. Alexis threw a pillow at her face, and they both laughed. She stood up and walked over to give her a hug.
" Thank you darling. Means a lot that you came this early to decorate. " She chuckled.
It was officially Alexis' 18th birthday. She was technically a legal adult in many countries but here, she was just officially an adult.
They had a whole party planned out at Mari's house but then, Peter got sick and so did Mari and they just couldn't have the party there anymore. So it was gonna be at their place.
" Any surprises in store for us tonight? " Alexis looked at Noah hesitantly, but he shook his head. " No, nothing much. A Photo Booth and the cotton candy machine is the main surprise, but you knew that. "
The theme was a carnival. There wasn't going to be a ferris wheel or rides, but the carnival food and some games where they would alcohol as a prize. And other things too.
" Just another three years and we can take you to the clubs! " She cheered joyfully. " That sounds great but I don't think I'd be able to go out with a little toddler running around. "
" Daddy Noah can totally take care of that when we will have girls night, right? " Olivia smiled angelically towards him, fluttering her lashes. " Let's start by having the baby before we plan for that. " He said, finally going towards the girls.
He scooped Alexis in his arms and kissed the temple of her forehead. " Happy birthday beautiful. " She smiled as he left the room to go freshen up.
" Woah. Flirt alert. " Olivia stuck her tongue out. " What's going on between the both of you? " She asked.
Alexis furrowed her brows, because she wasn't even sure herself. They never said they were in a relationship together but when the others would ask them, they said they were taken.
" I'm not sure. We never made it clear but apparently, we keep telling people that we're together. So I guess, he's my boyfriend. " She smiled happily. Olivia laughed as she saw how flushed Alexis turned.
They both made their way to the kitchen where most of the things were already set up.
" Happy birthday! " Everyone screamed. Well, everyone I mean Noah, Anthony, Miel, Ian, Pam, Sick Mari and Sick Peter.
" No, I look bad guys. Don't do this to me! " She covered her face with her hands. " We've seen you in a drunk state, where you were almost passed out. You look good, trust me. " Miel laughed giving her sister-in-law a hug.
They all exchanged hugs and went to the backyard where Anthony made her a birthday breakfast. The cooler of drinks, a box, some tables and chairs were placed on the deck.
" You didn't have too. " She looked at Anthony. " Every birthday should be special, right? " He smirked at the plan they had in mind. " Totally. "
" Well, eat up! "
Not long after, they all started to get the house ready with more carnival decorations. They set up the food stands, the pre-cooked barbecue. The cotton candy machine that they rented finally arrived and so did the photo booth. Everything was coming together.

" I'm nervous. " Alexis said as she put on her dress. " Don't be. The boys have an idea, and their girlfriends don't know yet. Not many would be surprised. " Mari said, finishing the last curl in Alexis' hair.
" You'll be fine. Anyway, we're gonna be by your side the whole time. " She reassured her. She turned off the iron and approved at how her best friend was slaying her birthday. " Lex, everyo- wow. " Noah cut himself off.
" A really beauty isn't she? " Mari said, making Alexis blush. Noah just nodded, his eyes basically formed hearts as he was in awe at the petite blond in front of him. " I was saying, that everyone is here and they're looking for you but they're eating now, so you still have time. " He said, dropping a few jackets on her bed.
" Give me a minute to breathe and I'll be down. " They both nodded their heads, leaving her alone in her room. She looked at herself in the mirror, trying to see her bump. But she was still too early in the pregnancy for it to show.
Someone fiddled with the door knob of her room and she immediately stopped what she was doing, taking the brush and pretended she was applying her makeup.
" Oh I didn't know you were.. "
Shayne stopped himself from speaking. He choked on his own breath as he saw her for the first in a few month. " Anthony just said this is where I put my jacket. "
She looked at him in the mirror and then turn towards him.
" Yeah. Just leave it on the bed. " She instructed him and he did as told. " Hum, happy birthday! Wow, eighteen that's huge. " He said awkwardly. She laughed softly at his awkwardness, closing the door behind him.
" You don't have to be so weird about this, Shayne. " She smiled at him. He shuffled in his spot, playing with his hair. " You cleaned up well since the last time I saw you. "
The last time that they saw each other was at Anthony's birthday at the office. He was wearing jogging pants, he hadn't cut his hair or shaved his beard and he looked like he totally given up on life.
Now as she stared at him, he was wearing a flannel and some dark jeans. " My mom didn't like the whole hobo attire. " He laughed. " I kinda agree with her. The long hair wasn't your best look. " She stuck her tongue out at him.
" Well, you look good as always, Alexis. " He complimented her back. " You can still call me Lexi, you know. " He nodded his head in understatement and they stood their in perfect, awkward silence.
" Hum, thanks for inviting me. " He spoke quietly. " It's my 18th, I wanted everyone here. And even though we're not on good terms, you deserve a night out with the Smosh crew. I mean, they're your family too. "
He gave her a faint smile and it fell back into silence.
" I'm really sor- don't. Not today. " She stopped his apology that she wanted to hear for months, but tonight wasn't about that, it was about having fun and celebrating. " Right. Party Lexi doesn't do confrontation. "
Not gonna be partying if she has a baby inside her.
" I'll be at the office on Wednesday. If you want, we can have lunch and talk? "
That's all Shayne ever wanted. Was to be noticed again by her.
" I'd like that. " He nodded his head, grinning at her. He felt a new hope of peace in his heart. " I'll let you finish getting ready. Happy birthday again. " He waved, reaching for the door.
She stopped him, and wrapped her arms around his neck. " Thank you for coming. " He didn't react immediately but he reacted by wrapping his arms around her waist, hugging her tight, not wanting to let go.
They stayed like that for a few seconds, for two completely different reasons. For Alexis, it was because she knew the next she was going to do was going to change everything for them forever. For Shayne, it felt like a sign of hope.
But was it?
" I just want to thank you guys all for coming to my 18th. It means a lot to have came from such a bad past and be welcomed into a big loving family for about a year now. " She said, holding up her glass of fake champagne.
Everyone surrounded her by the balcony as she gave her speech. Anthony, Mari and Noah close by.
" In a way, this party is also for you guys. Because you are my family and I love all you. " She smiled. " Don't get so emotional on us, Lexi! " Keith laughed from the crowd with a little tear in his eye.
She took a deep breath and the three mains came to stand by her side. Well, mainly Noah. Anthony and Mari about two inches away from them.
There were a few confused looks in the crowd as they did the little formation.
" But this is party is also an announcement party. " She bit her lip and looked at Anthony for approval. He mouthed her 'you can do this.' and she exhaled that deep breath she took.
" Announcing that me and Noah are having a baby. "
Mari and Anthony let the box from earlier open and out flew pink ballons that read 'it's a girl!'.
Everyone let out gasps or screams of surprise and excitement mostly for Courtney and Olivia. Not only did they announce the pregnancy but also the gender. It was a two-in-one thing.
The crew members all went up to the parents' to be, congratulating them and giving them a bunch of good wishes.
One person fled the party quickly, and Alexis searched for him through the crowd but he was gone. But could you blame him?
