Viper Strike stretched in the shade of the trees. She liked catching frogs, even if it had costed her Weasel Spot's lecturing her about the dangers of the outside. She huffed softly to herself, but couldn't help but smile to herself. "Come on. Let's see if we can get this back to the others." Violet Leaf meowed, bringing her out her brief thoughts, a toad in her jaws.
"Okay." She meowed and followed after her friend. The she-cat was young but she was good at catching fish and frogs. Mostly, Viper Strike was fond of the frogs. Wolf Fur could all of the fish in the world.
"I wanna be as skilled as Grass Shadow one day! She catches great frogs!" Curly Branch's mew came just within earshot. They had made it back.
"Keep those paws and those good eyes and I'm certain you will my little one." Eagle's Speck purred touched her muzzle to her daughter's tiny head.
Fish Scar was eating a mouse. Running Fern and Dove's Pelt were in their usual spot beside the nettle patch, sharing a squirrel. They spent so much time together now that most of the group were wondering about kits between them. If they weren't the pair that was the topic of conversation, it was Dapple Spots and Gorse Feather.
"Kits." Light Mist meowed to Bright Wind. The elderly she-cat seemed to be the only member of the group the pale gray she-cat ever talked to. "More mouths to feed, more racket,"
"More strong and healthy members." The elderly brown speckled she-cat finished, though judging by Light Mist's brief look she didn't pay attention to, that wasn't what she was going to say along with her first two comments.
"I bet I could climb the highest tree in this forest, no trouble." Leaping Breeze meowed. Silver Leaf smiled goofily. "I bet I could too!" He purred.
"Ha! When wolves don't howl!" The van she-cat meowed.
Wolf Fur sat in the camp eating a rabbit. He looked up to see his sister with a frog in her mouth walking beside Violet Leaf. The tom much rather mice and birds over some wet slimy frog. The tom had always found her going across the lake the past few days. He caught a frog, after a while of listening to its noise and hunting it down on wet ground. Viper Strike padded over to him. "Hey thick ears!" She purred in amusement calling her brother by his teasing name for him, given by his fluffier fur out of the two of them combined.
"Hi Viper Strike." He mewed kindly to his sister. Weasel Spot entered the camp with a bird. Fish Scar drew over to him. "There you are Weasel Spot. Where have you been?" The group leader asked the black and white mottled tom. He had a scrap of meat in his jaws. "Hunting." He replied flatly.
The mackerel tabby blinked. "Since dawn?" He asked him, eyeing him up suspiciously. Weasel Spot curled his tail. "Hunting takes a time. We are in a new place." He mewed.
"We've been here for a moon. It doesn't take that long for a cat to get used to a place." Fish Scar's tail brushed against the grass. The tom padded past him without saying anything more and putting his catch on the prey heap. Viper Strike saw that it looked small. Her father usually brought back rabbits or even squirrels. Bad day maybe She blinked looking confused at her father. Dusk fell and the sky soon turned to night. Viper Strike noticed that Wolf Fur didn't dare look at the dark starry sky. "Why aren't you looking to the sky like you usually are?" She asked him curiously. The black tom stood to his white paws. "Why bother with it?" He mewed in question and walked to his nest. Viper Strike blinked through confused green eyes. Shaking her head, she followed after her brother but slowly.
