Beauty and The Beast

Chapter 6

Once we are safely back in the SUV I curl up in a ball, and enjoy my food. I burst into tears out of nowhere, and quickly start drying my eyes.

Baby girl what's wrong? I hear HIS voice breaking through my wall. Instantly I sit up straight, and dry my eyes completely.

Nothing. I am perfectly fine. What do you want. I growl sounding very hostile, and I couldn't careless.

I want you. You are mine. Always have been, always will be. So please just come back. I miss you... Leland says sounding so, broken. I hate it. I may have rejected him, but that doesn't mean I don't want him. I thought he wanted someone else, I was just trying to protect myself. When I felt like he found someone else, I got scared. I didn't wanna hurt. So I tried to make it seem like I had moved on.

I can't. My pack is in Oregon, and I'm already on the Highway with Alpha Xavier. I say with a bit of regret in my voice. All I want is to be near him... I thought thinking it had been just to myself, but of course not.

I'm so sorry. If you take back the rejection, I will be waiting for you at your pack house, and we will make it the new royal pack house. I will even televise the fact that you are my mate. Please just let me be yours again.... He begs, and sounds so desperate. Wow. Alpha King begging for the attention of his mate. Who would've thought.

We will see. I say, and pull out my phone to text Adreana. I quickly text her: 'There's a gas station up ahead that we need to stop at.' Her simple reply is: 'Okay.'

I turn to Xavier only to find him already looking at me, and nodding.

"I already know, but its getting dark. Are we gonna stop for the night, or you drive while I sleep?" After he said this I realized that we had been driving longer than I thought. I stared back at him blankly.

"I...we're...ummm...we're stopping for the night, if the rest of you are fine with that." I say finally, I had completely zoned out for a minute. It was weird, I was hearing things for Leland. Like he wasn't doing it on purpose, but almost like I had pushed myself into his head. It sounds weird, but that's kind of what mind link is. He had been saying something to someone, a male, but I couldn't really hear what was being said. It was all so muffled, I couldn't really hear what was being said.

"Okay. So are we staying in a hotel or in the SUV?" Xavier asks looking down at his phone real quickly, then back up at the road.

"We are staying in the SUV. That way we can just leave in the morning." I say as we pull up into the gas station, and instantly I spot our big black SUV. We pull up beside it, and I smile over at Adreana. I got out, and started towards the store with a smile.
"Where are we gonna park for the night?" She asked as she got out with me, and headed for the store.
"Well I figured we'd drive a few more miles up to a rest stop, and park there for the night." I state looking over at her, then at the guys who had gotten out after us. They all nod.
"What time are we leaving in the morning?" Xavier's Beta, Jason, asks opening the door for us all.
"Whatever time both you boys wake up, I don't care if us girls are still asleep. Once both of you two are awake, we leave. Let us sleep." I say very seriously, because it has to do with my sleep. I don't mess around when it comes to my sleep. I quickly walk inside, and look for a monster. Once I have one in my hands I grab a bag of chips, and head for checkout, meeting everyone else up there.  Once we get checked out, and are all back by the cars, Xavier tells Adreana and Jason what happened at McDonalds. 

"Oh my god! Did you tell your mate?" Adreana asks, looking at me with so much concern. Of course that is the first thing she asks. 

"No. I did not. He has no right to know. He doesn't need to know anything about me. He doesn't need to know that I miss him....Or that all I want is to be back with him...." Suddenly I burst into tears, and crumple into a ball on the ground. "I miss him so much it hurts! I want to try, and get over him but I can't! Even if he were to move on I'd still have that small sliver of hope, that he'll realize she isn't what he wants. That I'm what he wants, or that I'm what he needs...that I'm all he needs...." I whisper the last part as tears fall freely down my cheeks. I just wish I could have him here right now. As I say this, a black SUV pulls into the parking lot. Almost instantly I know it's him. It has to be. I watch, holding my breathe, as the passenger side door is opened. I start crying all over again as I see Leland get out of the SUV, but suddenly I'm whimpering. He seems to either hear this, or something, because he looks directly at me. Next thing I know I'm wrapped up in his arms, and I keep crying uncontrollably. 

"Shhhh... It will be okay. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere this time. I pinky promise this time. I am going to stay by your side for as long as I live." He whispers quietly in my ear, and holds me against him tighter. 

"I m-missed you. I c-can't believe I t-tried to leave y-you." I sob causing me to stutter with some words, which causes me to pout. Leland laughs as he tilts my head back so he can see my face, and smiles.

"You are so cute when you pout." He says causing me to pout even more, and causing me to glare at him.

"Stoooopppppp...." I say pouting, and pulling away from him a little. He instantly pulls me back, and kisses the top of my head.

"Sei tutto per me. In realtà tu sei il mio mondo." He says causing my heart to stop. Italian. (You mean the world to me. In fact you ARE my world.)

"Comme vous le faites pour moi." I whisper looking up at him with a shy smile, and I can tell he knows every word is true. (As you do for me.)

"Okay. As cute as you guys are, we still have some driving to do. So let's go." Adreana says getting into the passenger seat of my SUV, and Leland drags me to the passenger side of his SUV. He throws me in the passenger seat as I hear 3 more car doors shut, all from SUVs. I watch him as he walks around the front of the car, and slides into the drivers seat. I smile at him, and cuddle up in the seat. 

"Goodnight Il mio amore." Leland says as I start drifting off. I feel the car starting, and then I feel the SUV get on the road. But I can't remember anything after that, and all I can think about is Leland.
