Shruti's POV:
I am waiting since half an hour now but there is no trace of Sumi and her cell is also not reachable.
"Hi! Already waiting for me?" Akshay's said from behind.
"Hello to you too. And am not waiting for you." I turned to look at him. "I am here for Mausam. She told me to wait for her but she hasn't come yet. Our first class will be over soon ." I said.
"Then call her and ask." He said.
"I already did that. Its not reachable." I took a breath as I remembered that incident when she was disturbed by a high school freak and was gone for a whole day. Lastly we found her near the old fort beside the beach. What if she has gone there again. But why would she?
"May be she has changed her mind to come college. She can be at home." His voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"No. No, she would have informed me if that was the case." I was getting worried now. "What if, something bad happened to her?" I spoke suddenly when a strange realization hit me.
"Hey.. " he turned me so I was directly facing him now. He put his right hand on my arm and left on my cheek. "Don't worry she'll be fine. Have a call to her home. May be her parents can tell you what happened. Hmm.." He said all the while caressing my cheek with his thumb and though I was worried about Mausam, my body shivered under his touch and I leaned into his hand. I nodded and dialed her mother's number. She picked up just when I was going to hang up.
"Hello." Her mother said. Her voice was hoarse as if she has been crying. Why? I thought.
"Hello aunty, its Shruti .I was waiting for Mausam for a while now. Isn't she coming to college today?" I asked and crossed my fingers. Hoping for the best.
"Umm beta, She has an accident." Before I could even process her sentence my mouth responded.
"WHAT?? HOW? WHERE IS SHE NOW?" I asked more like shouted.
"Calm down. She's out of danger. We are in City hospital now." Her mother replied.
"H.. How is she?" I stammered and felt Akshay's hand on my shoulder.
"Broke her leg. Doctors are checking on her. Cant talk more now beta. Take care." She hung up.
"Ssshhh..." I looked up at him. "Don't cry. What happen?" He asked with concern.
"She has an accident. They are in city hospital." I said tried to keep my tears at bay.Veer's POV:
I was waiting in class for Akshay and his girl. As soon as class got over I got downstairs. There I saw them. But why is Shruti freaking out like this? I thought and walked faster to reach them.
"What's wrong?" I asked reaching them.
"Her friend met with an accident. She's in hospital." Akshay replied.
"How? And what are you doing here then? We should be there."
"Yes, we were just leaving."
"Umm... Actually. I think I'll go alone." Shruti piped in.
"Why so?" Akshay asked confused. I was confused as well.
"Akshay, its just our second day at college and her mother won't like that we made boy - friends only in one day." She said a little shyly.
"Hmm.. But am not wishing to see you on a bed beside her in the hospital. And if you drive in such state you will surely do that." He said leaving no space for her to argue.
"But.." "No buts.. You can tell them we know each other from family acquaintance and I came to drop you." He said suggesting.
"That'll be fine. I'll stay here with Sid and Kusum. Just make us known." I said.
"Hmm OK." She said.
"Let's go." They left towards parking.Don't know why but a feeling of pain filled my heart. It was aching. I think I need to play some on my guitar. It always works whenever I miss her.
