Chapter 18: Agreement

“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to be angry with you” Lhian apologized.

“I understand. It was nothing.” I replied.”By the way, how did you know my best friend?”

“Well, after I and Janus broke up, I was crying and alone near the Audio Visual Room. He saw me and gave me a hanky, talked and tried to comfort me. We started communicating via chat, until it came to text. We got to know each other. And time came that he started fetching me after my class, we have the same vacant time so I was with him during lunch. And if I have to go home, he escorts me to the terminal. I realized how thoughtful he was..”

I smiled. He is really the Will I know, that kind of moves. Now I found out why he was happy after I asked him for some space.

“I want to tell you something…” she added

“What?” I asked with a smile

“I think I like your bestfriend” she said and smiled  “Is that fine?”

“Of course, why not?”

“You may not like me because of what happened between me and Janus”

“I don’t have the right to decide for him and what made you think I might not like you for him? You know what, if you really love someone, you have to conquer those who disagree. If ever I’m one of them, you have to prove me that I’m wrong, that my bestfriend will be happy with you”

“Yeah..right”

“I think my bestfriend likes you too. I’m not kidding”

“How did you say so?”

“I know him, he’s my bestfriend. His gestures when he likes someone..something like that. I can’t explain but that’s my conclusion. In just a short time you can develop feelings to each other. I can’t deny. It’s happening to me..”

“But why aren’t you…uuhmmm…say yes to Janus? If you’re thinking…about me..don’t”

“Don’t worry.. it has nothing to do with you..” I replied with a smile again

“He doesn’t court you, isn’t it?”

“We have confessed our feelings for each other, and that time I told him to choose you”

“Me? What did he say? You?”

“He likes me..and I like him too..long story”

“So, why don’t you….after our break up? You’re thinking you’ll be a rebound?”

“If I really want to be his girlfriend now, I won’t think of that.. I’ll say yes no matter what people may think..it’s just that.. I have other reasons.”

“Like what?”

“ I’m not yet ready, I’m not yet sure about my feelings for him. I don’t have to hurry.. I know he can wait if he’s really sincere”

“Just promise me…you won’t do what I’ve done to him..trust him..please..he won’t lie to you. If he really loves someone, he’ll do everything to prove it.. so don’t doubt him.. he’s craving for trust and he deserves it”

“I promise…”

“Thanks”

“Promise me..you won’t hurt my bestfriend. I know he’s happy and will be happy with you. Understand his kinda..immature-ness. He’s someone who will make you laugh..You’ll be happy with him.. I tell you”

“Promise, I will”

We hugged each other. Unusual, I can’t believe this happened.

“Try to stop him, not for my own sake, but his.. and thank you again..I have to go…” I added.

“See you again..take care” she replied.

“Wait, I have to tell you something!” she added.

“Tell it to me when we see each other again. Anthony’s father is calling him. We have to go…” I replied.
