O N E ; W H A T S T H E P O I N T'life is too cruel, if we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?'

Scarlett leaned on her arm as she watched her human friends chattering about some nonsense, she was literally counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds until graduation. She was ready to get the hell out of Forks High, and out of Forks in general. Mike and Eric were trying to help Jessica with her valedictorian speech, their suggestions however were awful. She plucked at her food as Bella and Edward walked up, making her tense up fighting her need to punch Edward in the face again. Angela gave her a small sympathetic look, she didnt know exactly what happened between Scarlett and the Cullens but she knew enough to know they werent on good terms.
"Alright so we've got, 'my fellow students' right?" Mike started out and Eric nodded loving it, while Jessica looked less than pleased, "We are the future, anything is possible if you just believe, blah, blah, blah, you've got yourself a speech"
"Perfect," Eric complemented proud of his best friend while Scarlett snorted at the terrible cliche of it all.
"No, this'll be my speech when I want everyone to throw diplomas at my head," She crumpled up the piece of paper tossing it at Mikes face, "So thank you,"
"You gotta embrace the cliches, Jess,"
"They are the bread and butter of all valedictorians,"
"And that is why you are not valedictorian," Angela told her boyfriend, lovingly but knowing well enough that Erics grade wouldnt even reach the level it took to be top of the class. Scarlett was on track in the start of the year to be the top of her class, that is until she shifted into a giant wolf, and spent her only remaining time helping out a friend that didnt even deserve her time. Her sudden drop in grade and attendance made her only opening scholarships drop, she wasnt even sure how she'd be able to afford tuition for school now.
"Jess doesnt need cliches, the speech is gonna be epic," Bella told her and Scarlett wanted to slam her head against the table after hearing her voice.
"Epic? It'll change lives," Scarlett rolled her eyes at the girls words, knowing that most of her fellow peers would forget her speech by the end of the night, nobodies lives would be changed by a set of words jumbled together on a piece of yellow note paper. High school did not matter, it was four years of hell and most of the memories would be long forgotten along with the friends and enemies you made in between it.
Jasper and Alice strolled over in that moment, taking the last remaining seats across from Scarlett who sent them a menacing glare, a light blue twing in her eyes that only the vampires in the room would be able to see.
"I've decided to throw a party," Alice chirped.
"After all, how many times are we gonna graduate high school," Jaspers slow drawl spoke, and for a minuscule of a second Scarlett wanted to smile at his sassy remark, but held it back, they didnt deserve her smiles.
