'life is too cruel, if we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?'

Scarlett leaned on her arm as she watched her human friends chattering about some nonsense, she was literally counting the days, hours, minutes and seconds until graduation. She was ready to get the hell out of Forks High, and out of Forks in general. Mike and Eric were trying to help Jessica with her valedictorian speech, their suggestions however were awful. She plucked at her food as Bella and Edward walked up, making her tense up fighting her need to punch Edward in the face again. Angela gave her a small sympathetic look, she didnt know exactly what happened between Scarlett and the Cullens but she knew enough to know they werent on good terms.

"Alright so we've got, 'my fellow students' right?" Mike started out and Eric nodded loving it, while Jessica looked less than pleased, "We are the future, anything is possible if you just believe, blah, blah, blah, you've got yourself a speech"

"Perfect," Eric complemented proud of his best friend while Scarlett snorted at the terrible cliche of it all.

"No, this'll be my speech when I want everyone to throw diplomas at my head," She crumpled up the piece of paper tossing it at Mikes face, "So thank you,"

"You gotta embrace the cliches, Jess,"

"They are the bread and butter of all valedictorians,"

"And that is why you are not valedictorian," Angela told her boyfriend, lovingly but knowing well enough that Erics grade wouldnt even reach the level it took to be top of the class. Scarlett was on track in the start of the year to be the top of her class, that is until she shifted into a giant wolf, and spent her only remaining time helping out a friend that didnt even deserve her time. Her sudden drop in grade and attendance made her only opening scholarships drop, she wasnt even sure how she'd be able to afford tuition for school now.

"Jess doesnt need cliches, the speech is gonna be epic," Bella told her and Scarlett wanted to slam her head against the table after hearing her voice.

"Epic? It'll change lives," Scarlett rolled her eyes at the girls words, knowing that most of her fellow peers would forget her speech by the end of the night, nobodies lives would be changed by a set of words jumbled together on a piece of yellow note paper. High school did not matter, it was four years of hell and most of the memories would be long forgotten along with the friends and enemies you made in between it.

Jasper and Alice strolled over in that moment, taking the last remaining seats across from Scarlett who sent them a menacing glare, a light blue twing in her eyes that only the vampires in the room would be able to see.

"I've decided to throw a party," Alice chirped.

"After all, how many times are we gonna graduate high school," Jaspers slow drawl spoke, and for a minuscule of a second Scarlett wanted to smile at his sassy remark, but held it back, they didnt deserve her smiles.

"A party at your place?" Angela asked shocked at the offer, Scarletts head rolled to the side as she looked at her nail unamused. Eric and Jess started muttering about how no one had ever seen their house, like that was a big deal or something. Why would they know what the Cullens house looked like if they werent friends with them? Mike had never seen Scarletts house, in fact none of the people at the table besides Bella had seen her house, so what was the big deal about not seeing the Cullens.

"Pass," Scarlett stated lowly, no way in the seven hells would she be attending that party.

"Oh come on Scar, it'll be fun,"

"You know what else is fun? Telling someone that you'd always be there for them, that you love them and would never leave them...and then you do. That is what I like to call fun, and I know for a fact you guys think so too, you were the ones that taught me that game," Scarletts voice remained void of emotion, "And my name is Scarlett," Alice looked taken aback by the harsh words that Scarlett had been spouting to them every time they tried to enteract with her in some way, while Jasper sent her a look of longing begging for her to let her guard down just so he could feel what she felt, to get a read on her.

He missed the way her emotions lifted him up with their pure and natural feel, he missed his only friend, he missed Scarlett but it didnt seem as though she would forgive them for a long time if ever. Before Alice could say anything else, Scarlett watched as her face went blank, and eyes dull falling into a vision while Bella tried to get her human friends busy with a topic so they wouldnt notice. Which was futile because everyone already saw Alice's moment.

She could easily see the worried expression on the Cullens face as Alice came back to reality, but their problems were no longer hers, so with a brief goodbye to Angela she picked up her things and left the cafeteria, heading to her last class of the day.

Scarlett snuck up behind Seth who sat at the table at Sams kitchen table, furiously scribbling on a piece of paper that the girl couldnt see as he angrily muttered to himself. Reaching him she jutted her hands out onto his shoulder shouting,

"What are you doing?!" the boy jumped in his seat flipping around to glare at the girl who almost made his pee his pants.

"Scarlett! Really?"

She nodded, "Yes really," Was all she answered before pulling up a chair next to him, swiping the page from the table, "Yikes, algebra huh? What is this, polynomials?"

Seth nodded, "I just cant figure it out and its due first thing in the morning, but its already late because it was due today but I couldnt finish it because I passed out after patrol and forgot about it, and the final is next week and I havent even studied for it, and Im gonna fail, and Im gonna have to repeat sophomore year and everyone will laugh at me an---"

"Woah woah woah. Let me cut you off right there, first of all I can help you, you my dear pup are looking at a math brainiac," Seths face was unbelieving, "Okay maybe not a brainiac but I got a B+ in math my sophomore year okay, so I know a thing or two. Secondly, who's your math teacher?"

"Mr. Dwight,"

"Perfect, that guy owes me a favor after I caught him smoking a joint behind the gym and promised not to tell, so I can get you full on time credit for this. And finally, I'll cover your patrols for this week so you can study? Hows that?"

"I cant ask you to cover my shifts,"

"You're not asking, I'm insisting. But dont worry I might just have Paul do it for me, or who knows Quil's been getting on my nerves lately maybe I'll make him do it," Seth laughed lightly knowing that Quil had been bugging the hell out of Scarlett with sex jokes after Pauls mind slipped after their first time.
