6.
YEARS LATER.
Mama Lynn stood from her newly furnished, one bedroom apartment that was her own. Standing alone she smiled a peaceful smile. She had finally left that side of town. She had finally left that pain to the side and threw out those bad clouds. She didn't try reaching out to Mary anymore, but she knew where she was. Animosity was aimed towards her crooked sister. The sister she tried keeping from her daughter.
The daughter that had ran away from her mother to be with the others. The others Norma Lynn saw as trouble.
She smelled her fresh air once again, holding onto the man she'd let In. The man she'd fallen in love with all over again. "I love you, Michael Creene." She kissed his cheek and he swept her from her feet. Mama Lynn was soon going to be Mrs. Creene.
Keenon Jackson stood behind the neighborhood hang out building, allowing the sexual feelings. She was motivated to fulfill her fiancés need. She wanted to let up and breathe, but Keenon was pleased. "Omg." He breathed, causing her to smirk and remove her knees from the dirt.
They loved each other, deeply. Keenon had fallen in love completely. He even tried denying ever caring for Mary in that way. After she left him to grieve alone with no telephone number, Keenon moved on. He found a woman that made him feel satisfied with the place he called home.
They kissed and marched across the street to the rest of their friends. Carly sat in her fiancées lap, watching as the friends played crabs. Together they laughed and enjoyed each other's company while fulfilling the restless night.
Mary Lynn sat with her back against the wall. Her head at a fall. She grabbed the white substance and took another sniff. The sensation burning her nostrils. She giggled and eyed the redhead whore, realizing she was out of control. She grabbed at the door, but failed miserably, falling to the floor. She threw up more. She cried herself Into a ball In the corner. Her aunt was coming and she was furious. She knew she should have sent Mary back home where she belonged after her addiction to drugs.
She banged on the door. She fought off the dangerous men who were asking her to leave. No matter how mischievous, Mary's auntie was in need. Mary's auntie was going to get her niece. Mary held onto her knees as she rocked back and forth, mumbling, lord please. The other coked out girls laughing at her deed. Mary promised herself she would leave the evil things to the evil people, but the drugs was the missing pattern to her piece. The drugs kept Mary at ease.
If she wasn't hallucinating, she was in need.
Mary saw her aunt and she disappointedly sunk. She had finally felt safe after seeing her face, so Mary let go, knowing she'd be okay. Mary stopped fighting and released, her breath being taken from the bottom of her feet to the tip of her brain. Mary had fallen out and slipped into the only way of getting away and getting some peace.
Mary had slipped into a death bed; a coma.
"How could you let this happen? How could you let my baby suffer for so long?"
"Why not try coming to see your baby yourself." They argued. The two couldn't stand being in the room together by themselves. Norma watched with her own two eyes as her daughter tried to fight. One minute, Mary would be okay, then she'd start to slip away. Norma wanted her daughter's stay. She wanted to see her lively face in pure delight, but Mary was tired of the fight.
Norma wanted to be alone. She walked out Into the hallway and rejected her fiancé as she excused herself. She stepped out to New York's shining light and cried hysterically while smoking on the cigarette. She watched the traffic and sat at the lonely bench. It was a Sunday morning and her daughter was dying. She'd received the call in complete horror. She wanted to die.
She wanted to jumped from a building. She wanted to feel the worst pain for being so insane. Insane enough that she hadn't come to pick Mary up when she had the chance. She thought she was just being a teenager and needed her space since her father was away. Boy, was Norma wrong.
She was now feeling like Mary had. It was only fair.
Norma stared at the contact paper in their hotel room. She wondered if she should bother the boy and share the news. She dialed the number on the hotel's phone and waited for his tone. He hadn't answered and Norma knew he wouldn't. It was 4 o'clock in the morning and she couldn't sleep. Her fiancé went without her and she needed the closure. She needed someone to let her know she'd be fine.
She stared at the front of the hotel door and thought of her sister who'd probably still be up. She hissed and kissed her teeth to herself, harshly. She threw out the thought and shamed herself for even thinking of the deed. She wasn't that vulnerable for her need. She sighed and for once that day she had laid down. She still didn't feel relaxed. She still hadn't felt at ease. Just as Mary.
She felt tensed; just as Mary. For once, someone was suffering with Mary. Someone was feeling that need.
Right now, Mary was at ease while everyone was in grieve.
