It's kinda late here, so I'm not sure how this chapter came out...I hope you enjoy :)

CHAPTER 53 - EVERYTHING WILL FALL INTO PLACE

Two people in the middle of the street, nothing more than two pairs of eyes staring at each other, no matter how annoyed the drivers around got, no matter the honking, the ruckus, the frenzy that surrounded them ... they only saw one another.

It felt like eons, but it was merely half a minute. Half a minute of awestruck gazes, half a minute of uneven breaths, half a minute of wild heartbeats. It was enough to let all that sorrow that had been accumulated throughout those hideous three years fade away, in favor of a new hope, a new joy, sentiments that had seemed so far away as to be forgotten yet now felt so vividly true.

The two people opened their mouths, needing to say something, anything, but before they could, they were both grabbed by the arms, and pushed at the far ends of the street, each on one opposite site. Neither of them heard the police officers reprimanding them for blocking the traffic by standing in the middle of the road.

Once the officer was gone, Jane better focused on the person at the other side of the street. There could be no mistake, she was sure, the heightened beats of her heart were a telltale sign, if she needed one so badly.

Those features were nearing, those eyes getting closer, until, she realized, the person was right in front of her, barely a few inches away, and those eyes, those wide orbs were fixated on her, as if she weren't real, as if they feared it was all a huge hallucination.

"You ... it's ... am I ... am I dreaming again?" The person wondered, voice choked by emotions, tears filling those same eyes Jane just couldn't quit gaping at. She'd seen them so often in her dreams, she'd seen those same features so frequently in her most vivid dreams, to the point that she'd started looking for those in every person she met, unconsciously hoping that, maybe one day, they would meet again. And, apparently, the day had finally come.

She flinched when the person's hands cupped her cheeks, and tears filled those wide orbs. Before she could realize it, she was wrapped up in a bone-crushing hug, and her neck was wetted by the other person's tears. She had no idea how to react, so she stood there, confused and startled, while that person clung to her, as if afraid she'd fade away.

The words said person spoke didn't sound any familiar to her, they didn't light up any reminiscence, however, they did strike her: "Oh, Emily ... I've prayed so hard for this to be possible! You're alive!"

"I'm sorry I can't offer you more, but the couch comes with a bed, so ... it should be comfy." She offered him a small smile, closing the door behind him.

Riley nodded. "Thank you," was all he mumbled.

"No biggie. I couldn't have left you in that horrible place one hour more."

He shrugged, placing down his lonely suitcase. He'd left everything at the old apartment, not feeling like taking more than what was strictly necessary, like ... clothes for a couple of weeks. "It wasn't that bad."

She scoffed, heading to the kitchen. "You kidding? You barely had any room to breathe!"

Riley sighed, following her. "Yeah, well, that's not much of a problem for me."

She sent him a dirty look, raising her threatening index finger against him. "Don't you dare speak like that, Riley Evans. I don't want to hear any more of those dark words."

He scoffed, leaning against the counter, while she was putting on some coffee, the kind she knew he liked. "I still don't understand why are you doing this, Joanie."
