Laughing. Falling. Giving up. I hate skating. I hated it... Mommy and Daddy made it look so easy. I. Give. Up.

"Mommy... I wanna go home!" I sniffled, crying from the hurt of the falls and from embarrassment as other kids laughed at me.

"Don't give up. You can do it," mommy shook her head, grabbing my hands gently and crouching down, still skating. She dragged me gently with her, and caught me when I lost balance. Daddy was slowly skating behind me. Uncle Yuri was taking photos! How embarrassing!

Closing my eyes, I tried to keep up with the pattern. I hadn't even realized that mommy let go and was skating beside me along with daddy!

When my eyes opened, I smiled. I did it! I was SKATING!

"See? Mommy told you," mommy gave me a gentle smile.

Camera flashes slightly blinded me, but I was used to it. Being one of the youngest skaters, I was considered as a skating prodigy.

Many people want to watch me skate. Mom told me that I was about her age when I had begun competing. Through the years, I have found that there are many amazing skaters, yet I seemed to get a lot of gold medals. When I got my first gold medal as a small child, I felt bad because the other little kids cried, but now I know it's just business.

I had got what I wanted, right? I wanted to skate like my parents.

My skinny, teen legs twisted as I spun. Yes, I was about 15. Years pass fast, don't they?

I remember my hair pulled and mom slapped by that Yuri guy like it was just yesterday. It haunts me.

"WOOO! (G/n)!" I heard Uncle Yuri stand out from the last crowd.

I thought about waving, but I knew it was out of the question. My focus needs to be on skating and only skating.

I had gotten a perfect score, which was a usual for me, not to sound cocky.

"Uncle Yuri! You made it!" I hugged him. I had my dad's height, so I was almost as tall as Yuri.

                 "You're amazing!" He praised me.

Giving him a smile, I walked inside, putting on my jacket (handed down to me from my dad) and took my ponytail out, whipping my sweaty hair around.

"(G/n)! (G/n)! How can you act so chill after that amazing performance?" A reporter appeared in front of me, holding the mic to my face.

"I've been practicing those moves for a while now, and I guess perfecting wasn't too hard?" I tucked a strand of silver hair behind my ear. "Now, my parents are behind you, so excuse me," I smiled, trying not to squirm away from the camera flashes, and gently shoved past the reporters. When I got past, I jumped in my dad's arms, hugging him tightly. Mom joined in, and I smiled in my dad's chest.

"You ready to go home?" Mom smiled and I nodded. Uncle Yuri wrapped his arm around dad's shoulder.

"AND WE SHALL REWARD YOUR VICTOR WITH ICE CREAM!" My dad hollered, and we walked out of the ice skating performance.
