* eight months later *
It was a cold night, and the wind howled in the moonlight, swaying past the cave.
"Zasha," said Raven worriedly. "Zasha! ZASHA!" She yelled again, and Zasha woke up.
"Woah! What's wrong honey?" Said Zasha, he also being worried. Whenever Raven was worried, Zasha was worried
"Kovu," she started, her tone being scared. "Kovu is gone."
"WHAT?!!!! Where did he go?!" Zasha howled.
"Look, we can go out and find him. When I woke up he was gone," she said as the walked towards the mouth of the cave. "I'm going to find him," Raven said bravely.
Zasha walked to the mouth of the cave also. "No. I will find Kovu. You stay nice and warm here," Zasha replied.
"Nice and warm?" Raven said sarcastically. "Well, not nice and warm but you get the point," quoth Zasha. The two wolves nuzzled each other.
"Stay safe, Zasha."
"Don't worry, my love. I will be alright!" He said confidently. Zasha walked out of the cave, and started his search for Kovu.
The eight months that had passed was when the three wolves bonded. Especially Raven and Zasha. They didn't like each other back then, but they started to love each other. Finally, Zasha became Raven's mate. It was a dream come true.
Zasha shuffled through the snow, as his paws sunk into the white coat of snow. "Kovu? Kovu!" He said, trying to find him. Although, if Kovu was far away, he wouldn't hear Zasha's calls. Zasha decided to call him the "wolf way" as wolves called it. "Why didn't I think of the wolf way faster?" Zasha muttered under his breath. Zasha lifted his head up, and let out a loud howl that echoed through the trees.
After more and more hours of searching, Zasha was still unsuccessful. "Where is that little-" he was cut off by the sound of something zipping. He looked down seeing a net. He started to run, but the net shot up with Zasha with it. "No!" He said, trying to get out. He couldn't. He was stuck.
Zasha let out another howl, but this was a howl of danger. He did this so no other wolves would come near the place. Kovu heard a bark, and he squinted his eyes. He saw a cabin, and six dogs run out the door. It was the six dogs that Zasha had heard howling about eight months ago.
Zasha saw a gun pointed to his face. "Dirty wolves," a dark and unknown figure said. "I was hoping to catch some elk tonight, but I guess not."
The last thing Zasha saw that night, was the end of a gun hitting him in the head, and knocking himself out.
