Flickering lights (Book #3 of Lightning and Dusk's Adventures)

Prologue

A male Luxray was hiding behind a bush with a female Luxio beside him. His gold eyes began to glow as he could perfectly see a golden Shinx a few miles away.

"Did you find her, Scar?" The Luxio asked.

"Yes. we've finally found Holy and she's safe, Star, you don't have to worry."

The Luxray and Luxio leaped out of the bushes and approached the Shinx.

"Mom! Dad!" The Shinx responded in surprise.

"Holy! How many times do we have to tell you to not leave the pack without asking us. You could have been in danger!" Scar told her.

"And how many times do I have to tell you that whenever you leave our territory you have to cover your golden fur with mud! Your shiny coat could easily get you spotted by predators or criminals and you could get seriously injured or even killed out here!" Star added, pushing the Shinx into a puddle of mud.

"Eww!! Mom!"

"I'm sorry honey, but this is for your own good. You do know why shiny coated Pokémon are so rare, right?"

"I know! I know! They are an easy target..." Holy answered.

"Exactly! Then you need to learn to do this every time you go out!" Star explained.

The Shinx sighed and nodded in understanding. "Okay, mom..."

"Now let's go home..."

A second later, things started to get strange. The three electric type Pokémon then felt snowflakes hit their nostrils.

The Luxray looked up. "Hmm... That's rather peculiar. It shouldn't be snowing yet, it's only fall."

"What is going on with the weather?" Star asked.

"That's just it. I don't think this is going to be a natural snowstorm. This must be the work of a Pokémon. An ice type to be exact." The Luxray then caught sight of something white moving around them. His golden eyes glowing bright as he focused on something.

"What is it, Scar?"

He didn't answer the female's question instead he replied with a warning cry. "Run! And take Holy with you!"

"Wh-"

"NOW!!" He shouted.

Star obeyed and grabbed Holy by the scruff with her fangs gently and started running.

Scar used Discharge on the white creature he saw earlier but the attack missed and only got her attention. She floated towards him and used ice beam. The attack hit the Luxray in the side. Another Ice Beam quickly came after it and struck him again.

"Grr!! Who are you?!" He growled at her.

She didn't answer instead she used another ice beam. The white ghost-like Pokémon just grinned in satisfaction. "You belong to me now, Luxray!" She used Ice Breath and the Luxray was quickly frozen stiff like an ice sculpture.

"Now to add a Luxray to my collection but first... you two get the Shiny Shinx and Luxio for me!" The white ghost seemed to have ordered.

"Yes ma'am!" A male and female voice responded in the darkness around her.

The white ghost Pokémon then used Psychic and picked up the frozen Luxray with no problem. Unbeknownst to her, a Plusle and Minun were watching her from a safe distance away.

"Uh oh..." The Minun gasped. "You saw what I saw, right?"

"Yes! That Luxray was just turned into an ice sculpture at our very eyes!" The Plusle replied.

"Sshh!! We don't want to get caught as well. We have to make sure everyone is aware of what's going on. We have a dangerous criminal on the lose." The Minun added.
