Laia and Hannah. Best friends. Since forever. The only thing that separated them was the age difference. Laia was older by a year. But they spent their lunches together. Every day. They had decided that when Hannah first joined Laia's high school in Cincinnati. The two were the nicest in the school by far. They had befriended a pair of twins a couple years before. Sophie and May. Sophie, May, and Hannah were all in their freshman year of high school while Laia was in her sophomore year. She would be turning 16, May 31st.
Laia loved the people in her class though. It was like a second family. She had befriended all the girls and had a lot of crushes on the boys. She was particularly interested in her friends, Jacob and Noah. But she continued to tell herself that Jacob and his best friend, Conner, were like brothers to her. She wasn't doing a great job convincing herself.
The girl group had to do some sort of after school activity to see each other all the time, so they enrolled in a basketball team. It was perfect. And they had made another friend from another school that had joined on the team for fun. Her name was Morgan, the comedian of the group. Even when they had lost a game she made them laugh.
Laia loved her family a lot. Her two parents, Della and Mark, were always so supportive of her. Her brother Michael was such a joyful boy, he made Laia smile at the sight of him. Overall Laia was in love with partially everything with her life. Her friends and family, her social life and school life and her perfect grades and attendance record at school. Things couldn't get any better for her...right?
