"It's okay Daniel, you don't need her. You're a wonderful being who will find another love. She wasn't worth it if she wasn't comfortable with call you, hers." Louise attempted to comfort Dan before they entered the party.

But the slightest mention of Sophia, brought Daniel back to the scene of their breakup. Daniel shook his head with disbelief, the one person who he thought accepted him more than anyone was utterly embarrassed by him. It wasn't specifically the fact that Sophia tried to hide their relationship from the eyes of their peers, but she knew that Dan hated being treated differently because of his appearances. He didn't really care what people had to say but he hated people being subjected to labels because of their appearances.

Daniel gave Louise a weak smile to convince to his friends that he was fine, but inside his heart felt a void that longed to ache.

"Listen to us Daniel, we're your best friends and we are basically certified to help you in this situation" Chris advised

Daniel took a deep breath.

"Okay guys, I will try my best to forget about her."

The trio entered the vivacious party filled with underage drinking, drugs, and sexually deprived teenagers that were ready for a regretful hook up.

Daniel immediately regretted his decision.

Chris saw the worried look on his face and sought to comfort him.

" You aren't use to these parties, or well parties in general. But trust me, you'll have fun! I know I felt the same when I went to my first house party. I was so nervous and felt out of place"

" Same here!" Louise agreed

"I know, we went to the party together Louise..."

" IM NOT TELLING YOU IM TELLING DANIEL"

Louise's little outbreak managed to encourage a smile onto Daniel's face.

"There we go, happy and smiling as usual!" Louise cheered

"Let's take some shots shall we?" Chris eyed the table stocked with alcohol

Daniel has had some glasses of wine and champaign here and there, but he never submerged himself in beer or hard liquor.

"This is my fav" Chris said handing his friends each a shot glass full of amber colored liquid

Chris and Louise downed their shots almost immediately, but Daniel was reluctant.

"What's wrong?" Louise questioned as she observed the still full shot in his hand

"I don't know if this is right for me guys. Is this even safe? I don't even know why I'm here in the first place" He frowned

Louise put a hand on his shoulder.

"Daniel it's perfectly fine to feel all these mix of emotions. You've gotten out of a relationship like 5 hours ago and this is your first ever house party. And on top of that you have never really experienced alcohol like this before. Chris and I will make sure to take care of you. Just try it once and if you don't like it then we won't force you to do anything you don't want to do. You just need to live a little and have some fun for once in your life" She encouraged him

"Okay, you're right" He conceded

"When am I not?" She joked sarcastically

Daniel gave her a chuckle and poured the alcohol into his mouth.

He felt an almost stinging sensation at the back of his throat. It was a bitter sweet taste and Daniel liked it. It made him feel warm inside. It gave him the ability to feel other emotions than sadness. It helped him forget.

"Oh shit, what have I been missing out on?" he made heart eyes with the bottle of alcohol, grabbing it off the table and kissing it

His friends laughed at the ridiculousness he gave off from taking his very first shot.

"It's called Fire Ball" Chris proclaimed, winking because he knew Daniel would fall subject to the alcohol tonight

"It's called my best friend" Daniel said pouring another shot into his glass.

As Daniel downed his drink, he was greeted by a pair of animated green eyes.

"Daniel, I never thought I'd see the day when you'd finally come to one of my parties, but it's good all the same."

"Hey, good seeing you Peej! Yeah, I usually wouldn't been caught in this scene, but I needed a good drink"

PJ was definitely the friendliest kid from Pence Prep. He got along with everybody. He was friends with everybody. And he wasn't the type of condescending nice that usually resulted in backstabbing. No, he was the type of nice that just came naturally and genuinely without even trying. He never had issues with anyone because people just naturally liked him.

"Of course, well thank you for coming and drink responsibly" He winked and walked off

After PJ left Daniel to his own devices, he continued pouring himself shot after shot.

He was drunk.

He didn't even realize that he was on his 8th shot until he bumped into another body next to him.

"Watch where the fuck you're going mate" the being next to him snared

"I'm sorry, I'm a bit drunk" he chuckled turning to the stranger he had bumped into

Daniel's smile had quickly turned into a frown when he came face to face with Phil Lester.

"Oh, so this is what good boy Howell does on his free time. If this is what it takes to be valedictorian then I would win by a long shot"

"I don't really want to deal with your demeaning comments this right now so if you could cut the attitude that would be appreciated" Daniel snapped back

" Who do you think you're talking to?"

" A lazy prick who needs to belittle others to make himself feel better. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to drink until I regret it in the morning" Daniel gave him a factitious smile and walked off

Phil was left in awe because no one had ever talked back to him and Daniel Howell was the last person he'd expect to talk back to him.
