She didn't even send a second glance as she shot the figure trudging in the distance. She looked to the side, seeing Harry approach a building, kicking out the doors and aiming inside. She looked behind where Justin and the 2 friends- who she learned were named Ryan and Chaz- were. Justin gave her a slight nod and turned to them, "Cover Harry. We'll take the next one."
Cassie jogged over to the next building, kicking through the glass window and stepping over the rim- looking inside. She aimed her gun around, relaxing slightly as she saw the empty, trashed room. Justin stepped in behind her, looking around cautiously.
Cassie looked behind the shelves and in the fridges, "Nothing." She mumbled. At this moment, Harry, Ryan and Chaz stepped into the building, "Anything?" Cassie asked. "A few packets of crisps." Harry answered simply. She nodded and looked down at her watch. "We gotta get going. They're leaving in 15 minutes."

Cassie whistled loudly as they spotted the vans in the distance. Lexi was the first to look up as she quickly ran over and straight for Cassie, hugging her tightly. "You alright, Lex?" Cassie whispered as she leaned down to her. Lexi nodded lightly, still hugging. Cassie took her hand as they walked further across.
"Anything?" Jeff asked as they reached the brown van. "A few packets of crisps and some strays." Cassie answered simply. "Hey!" She heard Justin exclaim behind her, making her creep up a light smile. Jeff looked over the 3 boys, "Bitten?" He asked. They all shook their heads. "Alright guys! Let's get going!" Jeff yelled out as everybody started packing into the 3 vans.
Cassie jumped into the first van with Lexi, Harry and Maya up front. She looked up as Justin stepped into the van, sitting down in front of her and looking at Lexi cuddled up against her. "Your sister?" He asked. Cassie nodded and sighed, "She's just 8. I wish she wouldn't have to see all of this." She answered and played with Lexi's blonde hair, cascading down to her shoulders. They were like 2 exact copies.
Cassie picked up 2 packets of crisps, throwing one at Justin and opening the second one for herself. "How long have you been travelling around?" Justin spoke up. "We all started out in New York. City of dreams, right? We travelled all east of it,now we're back here. We change location every week; looking for survivors. Or a cure....." She turned her voice to whisper at the end.
"How many were there in the beginning?" Justin asked. "There were 30 of us. They all died somehow. If they were stupid enough not to listen to orders- they deserved to die." She spoke blankly, closing her eyes lightly as she remembered her best friend. "I'm sorry," Justin whispered. "You shouldn't be. It's not like it was your fault." She snapped and turned around, cuddling with the blanket around her body.
She could feel herself drifting off to sleep but then the van jumped violently, making her hit her head on the side. She got up and looked to the front and how they just stopped, "What happened?" She asked. ".....We hit something." Maya mumbled, undoing her seatbelt and trying to open the door. Harry stopped her and looked around slowly. "Don't get out, yet." He mumbled and reached for the small radio up front.
He pressed the button, "Stop the vans. Nobody get out." He spoke and put it back in its place. "Don't open the front doors. Cassie, let's go." Harry stated, reaching for his gun and jumped to the back. Justin got up, giving Cassie a questioning look. "Maya, take care of Lexi." She stated and followed as Harry jumped out of the van. Justin trailed behind her, his gun at the ready.
