Beth awoke in an unfamiliar room with an enormous headache. It was beautifully decorated with flowers and small trinkets making it look expensive as well as very well furnished,  almost like a five star VIP hotel room but better in every way. She sat up and looked around "where am I" she said to herself. She pulled the sheets off herself to discover she was changed into fine silk designer pyjamas. "that the actual fu*k?". She pulled her legs over the side of the bed and noticed a glass of cold water and two white tablets on the table with a note next to the two reading "Take these for the headache" Beth inspected the pills and approved, swallowing them both. Standing up she walked over to the window and opened the curtains to discover she was probably four floors above the ground. "How big is this place?" she wondered and headed for the door to find answers to where she was.

Outside the room there was a long corridor, which again, was well presented with vases and flowers and well lit with natural sunlight. Beth walked down the long corridor until she felt she saw a statue on the left and with no better plan followed that new path. Finally she walked into a man with white gloves and a well ironed black suit. He looked like a butler. "um, excuse me, could you tell me where I am please?"

The gentleman smiled "well your in Owen Manor", he sounded confused. "how do you not know where you are my dear?" he asked slightly concerned.

Beth looked away trying to remember. "I went to a party with Ash and then came home with him and he showed me a booze cupboard. we were on a sofa watching elephants and whales until two men came in. That's all I remember"

The man rubbed Beth's arm "you hungry pet?" Beth nodded and she followed him to a huge room with an unbelievable table. The table itself was as big as her dining room and kitchen put together. it was covered with eggs, toast, bacon, scones and every type of breakfast style food available. The chairs surrounding the table were almost all taken except two at the far end. The man turned to Beth. "go sit over there and dig in, if you want something come find me or ask one of these fine people to send me a message and ill come as soon as I can." He left and Beth made her way through the busy room to the empty chairs.

Beth chose to sit on the chair at the end meaning shed be slightly isolated from the rest of the men. She took some toast and bacon and formed a bacon toasty. normally when she was able to consume this delicacy she'd have two sliced of bacon however she thought given the recent circumstances she deserved four.

Half way through eating the masterpiece a well dressed individual sat in the chair next to her. He had blonde wavy hair covering parts of his face with shorter back and sides. his nose was perfectly straight and perfectly trimmed facial hair. Powerful green eyes and a jawline you could  cut yourself on. Beth stopped herself staring and continued to nibble her breakfast. His watch was in her vision. It was beautifully crafted with visible working parts ticking underneath the perfectly clear glass. "Your brother got off lightly" A message popped up in the watches glass. Beth looked at her bacon stunned.

"This place is astonishing" she thought to herself, continuing to eat her bacon toasty.

"I haven't seen you before" The voice came from her left, meaning the jawline cutty man was talking.

Beth looked up to him staring right at her putting a bacon toasty together. "to be quite honest sir, I don't exactly know where 'here' is. I was told it's called 'Owen Manor' but that's all I know"

The man smiled. "you don't need to call me Sir, just call me Arthur. And if you don't know where you are I doubt I should tell you the exact location, yet anyway."

"Why can't anyone know where this place is?" Beth asked.

"you really don't know what this place is do you?"

Beth shook her head. Arthur looked at his watch again and looked at Beth, and then back at his watch. "you don't happen to be a Beth do you?" she nodded "you might want to follow me" she obeyed and put down the bacon sandwich. "you can bring that with you if you want, Hey snap! never known anyone else to do that" He held up his sandwich and took a bit out of it before walking off with haste. Beth had a hard time trying to dodge everyone and keep up with Arthur but she managed.

Finally they both broke away to deserted corridors. It was like a maze to Beth.

"so how old are you Beth?" Arthur asked

"eighteen" she answered

"And I thought I was young" he said chuckling, "well Ash is the youngest working individual, nineteen and there's me who's twenty one but there are kids running around somewhere younger than you. if you plan to stay here I wouldn't recommend volunteering to look after them. And watch out for the twins, you'll know them when you see them."

"You know Ash?" Beth asked

"here miss, everyone knows everyone, were a family and we'd welcome someone like you any day id dad, or Boss approves. And Ash is my brother"

They finally stopped at two huge doors. They were dark and had extraordinary detail carved into the wood. Arthur knocked on the door twice and a loud "Enter" followed. Arthur started to open the door but realised Beth hadn't finished eating the sandwich. he grabbed it off her and threw it to one of the two butlers either side of the door and wiped the crumbs off her chest and mouth. He pushed the heavy open and lead Beth inside. "Beth is here sir" he said and a hand signalled Them to step forward. the chair was facing away from the two. It turned towards them both and a big dark haired man leaned onto the table in front. He had a scar on his cheek and like everyone else he was wearing a suit.

"Beth, come take a seat" Beth walked forward and sat down on the chair. It was leather and she sank into it making it slightly difficult to move. " I apologise for not telling you what's going on Beth however I believe that it would be easier for you to remain oblivious to most of which is dealt under this roof. Already you know too much about this place and I don't know and trust you enough to keep this whole thing a secret so I have no other choice but to keep you here until I know you can be trusted." Beth instantly shot up in the chair with objection. The man raised his hand for a moment and continued. "I understand my son, Ash is very fond of you Beth. And I believe this could be a way of making it easier for you to cope with these decisions." Beth looked at him shocked with all sorts of things running through her head.  "Don't worry child", he continued, "you'll be safe, looked after and you family will be informed your studying in a private university. Education will be provided here privately for your benefit."

Beth sighed "okay" she said weakly

"I'm glad you agree. My name is Vlad but you shall address me as sir unless told otherwise. Your staying in my home so rules will apply to you as well. You can go anywhere except off the property and in restricted rooms and areas, you are a guest not a prisoner. You will report back to me through Ash and Arthur. if you see anything suspicious. If either of them are not around write it down and give it to one of the butlers in front of the doors there in an envelope, all of which is provided in your room. Ill see you around Beth" he smiled and turned around in his huge chair.

Beth stood up and walked out with Arthur. He opened the door and closed it behind them. Arthur smiled at Beth and pointed at a smiling Ash waiting outside with a sling and walked away.
