Chapter 10: Panic

Moonrise woke up to find that her and Milo were alone. Milo was still fast asleep. He didn't show any signs of waking up any time soon... At least not without any help. Moonrise bit Milo's ear.
"OWW!" Milo jerked awake. "Why did you do that?!?"
"So you would wake up!" Moonrise snapped. "I know how you are! You wouldn't have woken any other way!"
Milo scowled at Moonrise. She scowled right back.
"I was so happy to see you again, I almost forgot how annoying you are!" Moonrise growled.
"Hey! Did you notice we were alone?" Milo asked.
"That's why I woke you up!" Moonrise answered right back.
"Oh." Milo looked down. Moonrise sighed.
"See! I had a good reason to wake you up! Now help me figure out what to do!" Moonrise snapped again. The two pups decided to stay put. Within a few minutes they caught a glimpse of four wolves in the distance. They were getting closer. "Why are there four? If that's Mia and Madess, then why are there two other wolves? They could've found Keeth, but that would only make 3." Moonrise thought to herself. "I guess I'll find out when they get here." And soon enough, the wolves arrived. Mia and Madess were there. Keeth was too. But there was one other wolf that neither Moonrise nor Milo had seen before. She looked kinda like Mia. Which made the pups a bit comfortable around her. But not much. They didn't know her after all. Beside, her and Mia didn't look exactly the same. They just had a few similar traits. Milo and Moonrise jumped on Keeth as soon as they saw him. They were so exited, that they didn't think, they just jumped nocking Keeth to the ground. "Keeth! We missed you so much! We're glad you're okay!" The two pups shouted in unison. They were both licking Keeth and jumping up and down (in wolf forms). Then they turned their heads to Madess and Mia.
"Thank you guys, so much! For finding Keeth!" The two pups shouted together. Moonrise then turned her attention to the mysterious white wolf. "Who are you?" Moonrise questioned.
"Oh, hello! You must be Moonrise." The white wolf said with a smile. Moonrise looked up in confusion. She didn't even have to ask what she was thinking, the look on her face said it all. "How do you now my name?" She thought to herself.
"My name is Alu!" After introducing herself, Alu then proceeded to tell the pups what she had told Mia and Madess. She told what had happened. Milo and Moonrise may have just been pups, but from what Alu was told by Keeth, Moonrise was smart and she would've found out anyway. Moonrise was listening to Alu's story while Milo chased a butterfly. "Milo! Get your butt back over here!" Moonrise snapped ",You need to know this!" Moonrise bit Milo's ear and dragged him back over to the other wolves. "OWW!" Milo yelped.
"Leave it to Moonrise to deal with Milo." Mia laughed.
"Yeah, he's her annoying litter brother. And she's his controlling older sister..." Madess agreed. Moonrise opened her jaw, releasing Milo's ear from her grasp. "You're mean!" Milo groaned. And with that he ran off again.
Moonrise scowled and ran after him again. "Fine! I'll bite your tail this time!" Moonrise smirked. Milo ran faster. His eyes widened in horror. Moonrise sped up too. She found a new motivation. Moonrise was within a few inches of Milo. "Please don't?!?!" Milo begged. Moonrise bit his tail ignoring his request completely. Milo yelped and whined. Moonrise dragged him back to the other wolves, who, were currently in their human forms. Alu finished her story. "Hey! Umm... Alu, were is your name from?" Moonrise asked in curiosity.
"Oh, their my initials!" Alu replied.
"Then, what's your real name? What do they stand for?" Moonrise questioned further.
"Alu stands for Alice Luna Uie." Alu explained.
"Wait. Isn't your last name supposed to be the pack that you're from? I get that you have a middle name. Only the alpha family in the pack have middle names." Moonrise concluded.
"Oh, no. I have two middle names. Luna Uie are both considered my middle names." Alu explained further.
"Oh, okay!" Moonrise said, satisfied with her answer.
"Okay! Back to the topic!" Madess suggested. "Oh! By the way. Keeth, what happened to your missing claw?"
"Oh... The yurifs took it away." Keeth said with a grim expression on his face.
"I think I might have it! Madess said cheerfully. She took off her hair clip and turned it over. She took out an armored claw. "My pinky claw!" Keeth shouted in relief. He, took it out of her hand. He looked down at his human pinky, which had no nail. The claw wasn't his human pinky nail. It was still a wolf claw. He turned to his wolf form. Keeth had armor on his paws, that wrapped around his claws. The armor automatically sharpens his claw when they get even the slightest bit dull. The armor molds into the shape of his claws, so his claws have to be sharp and healthy all the time. Keeth was happy to see his claw, but it was torn off and couldn't be reconnected.
"Mia!" Madess whispered, turning to her friend ",Remember that time when you saved me? Remember, I was dying, you started glowing, and my wound disappeared!" Madess exclaimed quietly. Mia narrowed her eyes.
"What are you getting at...?" Mia asked cautiously.
"You should try to reconnect Keeth's claw!" Madess suggested. Mia's eyes widened.
"That was just a dream!" Mia said in a panic. "Right?" Mia said with a small voice and a worried look. Madess's harsh stare bore into Mia. "Fine! I'll try..." Mia said with no confidence. Madess's cold stare softened. "IF!..." Mia smirked. "Only if you can manage to glow too. You've done it before!"
Madess gulped. "I'll try..." Madess agreed. Mia and Madess turned to their wolf forms. Everyone looked at them wondering why they were in their wolf forms. It wasn't winter anymore. The snow had almost already completely melted. They didn't need wolf fur to keep them warm anymore. The only werewolves in the group that were in their wolf forms were Milo and Moonrise because they were to young for their human forms. They hadn't even had the shots for their human forms. Madess focused as much as she could. A few minutes later, sparks came from the tip of Madess's tail. Pretty soon Madess's tail started glowing yellowish-orange. "I did it! I did it!!!!!!" Madess shouted. Everyone looked over just as the light on her tail spread across her whole body. It looked like she was being engulfed in flames. Mia's eyes widened. Everyone looked panicked. "She's on fire... Is she on fire?" Alu asked calmly as everyone else panicked.
"I-I don't know..." Mia answered. She looked stunned. But everyone soon realized that Madess was in complete control of the flames surrounding her. Everyone was stunned. Madess smirked.
"Your turn Mia!" Madess said. Her smirk widened. Mia smiled at her blunt friend.
"I'll try..." Mia said repeating what Madess's original response. Within a few minutes Mia's tail was glowing a light rosy pink color. The glow of her tail spread across her whole body, just as Madess's had.
"What's happening...?" Keeth asked in awe. Everyone stared at them wide eyed. Mia took Keeth's pinky claw with her mouth (wolves don't have hands remember.) Keeth turned to his wolf form. Mia put Keeth's pinky claw in the gap on his paw were his claw used to be. Before anyone knew it, Keeth's claw was reconnect to his paw. It was as if it had never came off in the first place. Everyone was staring at Mia and Madess as if they were aliens. Everyone (except Milo and Moonrise) turned back to their human forms. Mia and Madess tried to suppress their odd power, but they couldn't. They were still glowing. They both felt like they were being closed in by walls and being crushed. They felt like that were being smothered as soon as they turned to their human forms. Mia and Madess were both suffering. They coughed up blood. Mia and Madess looked like they were losing control of their power. Madess was actually on fire! Her powers went out of control. Her fur turned to ash as it burned off. The fire burnt through her shin turned black as fire climbed onto her skin. Madess screamed. Mia's pinky claw fell off. Mia's neck started bleeding. It had a bite in it. The wound in Mia's neck looked just like the wound in Madess's neck that Mia healed. Mia was bleeding out. It seemed like all of the wounds that Mia had healed were reappearing on her.
