i am sorry
to my best friend;
i am sorry that i can't go to your house anymore
i am sorry that you have to lie to your family when they ask why i haven't been around
i am sorry that my sadness swamps you
i will understand if you do not want to be more friend anymore.
i am sorry
to my mother,
i am sorry for shouting at you. i am sorry that you took down the photos of me in your bedroom.
i am sorry for my words in anger and i am sorry that i never allowed you to have bad days when
you accepted that my life was a hurricane firing out hatred
i am sorry that i never watched films with you
i am sorry that i lied when i said i would never grow up.
i am sorry
to my dog,
i know you wonder why i don't take you on long walks anymore;
i am sorry that i am too tired.
i am sorry that i sometimes forget to feed you when i am sad
but the sadness attacks my bones and i am too busy picking up shards of glass to remember
that
you must eat
thank you for always loving me. thank you for not leaving.
you are precious.
i am sorry
to my brother,
i have noticed you stopped having friends around. i am sorry if i held you back.
i am sorry that you seem to be sad too.
i know how that feels.
i am sorry that mum is too busy trying to get me out of my room to realise you never leave
yours.
i hope that my shaded footprints do not stop you from enjoying your journey
thank you for the times you cheer me up.
thank you.
i am sorry.
