Ragan's POV
Today is the all-around final. We are about to do our first event. We are starting on beam today. "Now on balance beam representing the USA, Ragan Smith!" The announcer echoed through the arena. I saluted and got onto the beam. I did a back handspring stepout, back handspring, into a back layout. I nailed my triple series! Next was my back full. I stuck it! I did several other skills and then the time came for my dismount. I did two back handsprings on the beam. I flipped into the air and my feet hit the mat. My feet didn't budge at all. I stuck my dismount! My ankle was a little sore and still a little swollen but I made sure to ice it in between beam and vault. Sydney finished on beam and then we headed over to vault. My amanar was great the other day. Konnor was first on vault. She did a cheng. She did amazing. Syd was next. She was doing an amanar. She didn't stick it but she was very close. I was last. I heard the announcer say my name. I started running down the runway. I flipped onto the table. My body twisted in the air. My feet hit the ground as solid as a rock. I saluted and I knew I stuck it. We had a break in between our two final events. Syd, Konnor, and I all ate and joked around during our break. I also iced my ankle. Soon enough we had to warm up for our third event. It was floor. I was feeling really confident about it. I warmed up the Biles, double layout, and my 1 1/2 to triple twist. I did my double pike but I was pretty much warm enough to do it because I've been doing it since I was 12. I was second on floor. Konnor was first and did amazing! I posed and started my routine. I stuck all my tumbling passes. Now it was time for the easiest pass in my routine. It was a double pike. I stuck it because it was so simple. I saluted and finished my routine. I got a perfect score! Sydney did her routine and only got one small deduction. Our last event was bars. I was first on bars. I saluted and got ready to start my routine. I jumped and my chalked up hands and grips wrapped around the high bar. I nailed all of my release moves! Now it was time for my dismount. Twisting double layouts. My hands let go of the bar. I twisted and my feet hit the mat. I saluted and I knew I stuck my dismount. The olympics, for me, have gone way better than I thought they would. We waited for awards. I heard Konnor's name get called for third. I heard Sydney's get called for second. I thought I didn't place. But when they called first place, I heard my name echo throughout the building and everyone cheering for me. I got first in the all-around final! Tomorrow is the men's all-around final and the day after is our team final. We had a team dinner and we all went back to our rooms to rest. Bailie and I both took care of our injuries and went to sleep. What a great day I had!
