day 2. New Places

Maddison's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. It was currently 3:35am and I was tired. I still hadn't even packed my bags yet and Carla was still sleeping. Our house furniture had already been packed into cardboard boxes last week and sent over to our new house. I was just happy because mum said i could redecorate my room. My room wasn't that big and I had my own bathroom but it was down the hall. I decided to brush my teeth and then pack everything up that was int he bathroom first so that Carla could sleep still.

When I finished packing my toiletries i took them to my room and set them on my desk. I opened my cupboard and turned the cupboard light on so that it wasn't to bright for Carla. I grabbed everything off of the coat hangers and everything out of my drawers. I couldn't be bothered to fold every single item of clothing up since it was early and i couldn't be bothered. I through on some grey leggings and a grey comfy top. I grabbed a denim jacket for later anda pair of shoes to match. I did a half up half down hair style so that it was out of my face for the flight. My suitcases were pretty much packed and ready I just had to pack my Carry on bag. My laptop, phone, headphones, water, snack, chargers etc were all in there.

Carla had eventually waken up and it was around 4:40am. We had to leave at 5:00am to get to the airport on time. Carla wasn't getting dressed so she chilled in her pyjamas. She started to help me pack and my parents were already waiting for me to hurry up. I told mum to make me a coffee so I could survive the day and Carla was going to have a tea because she doesn't like caffeine. I quickly put on some make up. I don't wear a lot of makeup because I don't think theres any need but a little bit looks nice i think.

With bags all packed and in the taxi we were ready to go. I grabbed my mug of coffee and made my way out the door. Carla was close behind me and we were just gonna drop her home on the way. My parents hopped in the yellow coloured car and I followed behind. I was so excited but the emotions of leaving Carla were kicking in and I started to feel really upset. I sat hugging her all the way to her house and didn't let go until we reached her front door. I teared up and so did she. I have known this girl since the womb and i couldn't imagine that I was soon going to be 10, 360 miles away from her in a matter of hours. After a while of hugging and crying i soon faced the fact that I was going to miss my flight if I didn't let go soon.

After a few hours in the taxi to get to the airport we unloaded our suitcases and paid and thanked the driver. Going through customs at the airport felt like it took forever. My family took a seat in the waiting area and I started out the window at the planes. Wondering which metal tube i would be entering. I stared at my ticket and eventually our flight was called. I followed my parents and mentally prepared myself for the long day ahead of me. Because we were moving due to dads job his work paid for the flight and we got first class seats.

I'm 39,000 feet in the air for 21 hours without wifi or my best friend and away from everything I'v ever known. This was going to be a scary adventure which was going to be the rest of my life. I had played all of my songs on a loop four times in a row, and I have a lot of songs. We got on the plane at 8:15am and it was 1:32pm. We had only been flying for 5 hours and 17 minutes and I was already driving myself insane to the point where I was playing eye spy and the only thing i could spy outside, was the sky.

Finally at 5:45am the next day (Saturday) we had made it to the airport. We sped through baggage claim and got an uber which is a taxi I guess. I slept the whole drive to the new house. I woke up to my dad shaking me to let me know we had arrived. It was 7:49am and I stubbled to get my suitcase. Mum had beaten me to the door and the uber driver had left. I left my lugge and searched the house because I had only seen pictures of it. I was impressed. It was way bigger than my last house which I guess is a bonus. It had a large backyard with a pool with spa and patio. Mum called me inside and she showed me to my room. I was so excited because I had my very own ensuite. My room was massive and I couldn't wait to start decorating it. But for now I must sleep and I will start exploring tomorrow.
