I almost told him I loved him. That would never work. He would freak out and kill me.

"Go ahead. You what?"

I looked up at him and then away.

"I can't."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Because it wouldn't work."

He was genuinely confused.

"What wouldn't work?"

I kept my head on his chest.

"A Daemon and and Angel."

He scoffed.

"Oh they said the same thing about me and my twin because of our connection."

I shook my head.

"But not in this situation."

"But he's like a Daemon."

"Gabriel, I love you!"

I said a little angrily, when I realised what I said I quickly covered my mouth. He sat up and looked at me. I looked away from him, tears coming to my eyes.

"Hey look at me."

I sat up and looked at him.

"I'm sorry, I knew I shouldn't have said that."

"No, you're fine. You just surprised me is all."

I looked at my lap, taking sudden interest in my hands.

"I-I think I love you too."

My eyes almost popped out of my head.

"Wha-what? Really?!"

"Yea really."

I smiled and blushed, still not looking at him.

"I always wondered what it felt like."

"What what felt like?"

"To be loved."

He made an 'o' shape showing he understood.

"Demetrius never showed real love to me. No matter how many times he said it."

Gabriel shrugged.

"He's a douche bag."

I looked at my body at all my bruises.

"It's a surprise you didn't notice them."

"I noticed, I just never mentioned them."

I smiled a fake smile and he looked at me like 'really'.

"I know that's a fake smile."

"What? No it isn't."

"Yes it is, that happiness is fake."

I looked away and said it wasn't.

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm a Daemon, Gabriel. It's my job. I hate it, but it is my job."

"I can help you turn back into an angel."

I looked at him. I used to be an angel?

"At least, I think you used to be."
