Now that the air was finally clear with the boys, I knew that we had fallen off the rails and that we needed to get back on track, especially with practice. So it was a bright, sunny Tuesday morning and by bright and sunny, I mean boiling hot as it was 90 degrees outside and the team and I were sweating buckets, but that wasn't gonna stop us from working our butts off to make it to State. We were all there and taking roll call was the best part because I got to finally know each and every one of my winners. That's right, I'm betting on it. This team is not taking an L, we're all for a W! I am so cool! It feels good to be the coach.
Anyway, I called for attendance and since my team plays offense, I called a name and a position. Here's a map of our teams versus our defense, which, coincidently will be the Hawkeyes. I CAN'T STAND NATE AND HIS GARBAGE TEAM! Sorry, got out of character. Anyhoo, here's a map of offense and defense. The red is us, the Bay City Foxes and the blue are the Dallas Hawkeyes.
Alex, my superstar, is front and center as the quarterback. Will, my other superstar is his second in command as the fullback or running back. I was also able to convince the principal to let the twins, Ethan and Grayson to be bumped up to Varsity so they could play with us. It was a battle, but they proved their worth to me and the principal, so he moved them up to our team, which is Varsity as the twins were Junior Varsity before. So, now with the twins on my team, I made them both wide receivers with Grayson on the right and Ethan on the left. I made team druggie now clean, Frankie, our tight end since he's real shifty. Big Elliot, who by the way, earned his name due to his stature, and I'm not referring to ANYTHING else, is playing as a tackle. Jonah, who is Charlie's twin brother, is also playing as a tackle. Jonah is pretty ripped to be fresh out of juvie. TJ is my guard on the right and Henry is my guard on the left. And to be the center would be David, the know-it-all.
Now, I feel it's only fair to let you all know that my team is LOADED with hot guys but to spare the details, I think it would just be best to describe them in a brief way. First, there's Elliot, but we call him Big Elliot. He is a force NOT to be reckoned with. He is the tallest and largest dude on the team, which is already a double whammy, as well as his anger issues. But I'm surprised he can see with all of the blonde hair covering his face. Then we have, Jonah, the scary one. Jonah is fresh from the penthouse, so it was obvious enough why he was a tackle. Charlie, though I really shouldn't mention it, has been in the jailhouse herself for assault, but she told me that in confidence while I was over at her house one night, so I feel bad for saying it. Next, we have TJ and Henry, the closest friends I've ever seen. You could almost never see these two apart. They're like Ying and Yang. These guys live in the same neighborhood and have been living next to each other for twelve years. Black people have connections. Strong ones too.
Then there's David. Ah, David. The bookworm, who always wants to correct me whenever he can. God, I hate it, but no one can resist his Hispanic charm, not even me. By being a bookworm, he gets all the ladies and good grades, too. So it was only fair to put the know-it-all front and center. So, once roll call was taken and everyone knew their positions, it was time to start practicing. I was dressed in my training outfit while the guys got into position. I threw my hair in a high ponytail and slapped my black snapback on.
