Jaguar snarls at their reflection in a pond.
Jaguar starred down at a pond far off from the camp. He snarled at his reflection. He didn't like how he looked or his name. A wolf shouldn't be named after a cat! A wolf shouldn't look like a tan jaguar with random white patches! How could anybody like him when he looked so weird and had a bad name?!
Suddenly Alena's reflection appeared next to his.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"How did you find me?"
"I followed your sent."
"Oh."
"So what's wrong?"
I explained to her my thoughts.
"Jaguar, I like you, I think your name is cool. It's rare to be named after a cat. A jaguar is a big, strong cat. I like your unique look. At least you don't have a human name! And at least you coat isn't boring like mine!"
"Thanks. I like your coat and name. Alena is a pretty name. Your coat is lovely."
"I guess we both like others better than ourselves."
"Is that a good thing?"
"Probably, it means we aren't self-centered about our looks. We don't run around bragging, 'Hey, look! I got a pretty coat! Everyone look!'."
I laughed and then we silently walked back to camp together.
