He handed her a leather jacket, Christina stared at it not knowing what to do.
"Take it, and wear it. It was Laura's." Derek said shoving it to her a little more.
"Okay." She took off her grey draw string hoodie, revealing a white spaghetti string tank top and replaced it with the jacket
"So a Visionary?" Derek questioned as if he never heard of them. Maybe he hasn't, Visionaries are actually quite rare.
"And a Werewolf."
"How?"
"My biological mother's a visionary and my biological father's a werewolf, Laura took me to meet them before they died two years ago."
"Oh, sorry —" He tried to sympathize with her, but she wouldn't have it.
"And I showed you that vision for you to believe me, my guardian told me to come here with evidence of Laura adopting and taking care of me so you'd listen, instead of killing me, something about 'your uncle won't believe you if you only tell him, you need to show him too'." Christina shrugged somehow knowing either way, he wouldn't have killed her.
"Smart guardian," He chuckled, then turned to me looking me in the eyes, "you never explained why you came here. It isn't safe, you know."
"Laura told me if she didn't come back, look for her, and if I hear she's dead look for an alpha, but it looks like I met more than an alpha, I met my uncle who is an alpha.
"Well as the uncle you know barely anything about, let's go have some 'Uncle - Niece' bonding time."
"What are we doing." She tilted her head sideways partially not wanting to go anywhere with him judging by the current look in his eyes.
"It'll be fun, follow me." And he left, Christina didn't move for about five minutes, then he came back. She just guessed he noticed that she wasn't coming.
"I said, 'follow me' now go or I'll carry you." And she still didn't move.
She genuinely thought 'He wouldn't pick me up, he's bluffing.' Which is pretty funny cause he did.
Want to know what's even funnier, he took her to a freaking cemetery.
What the hell did Christina get herself into by coming here.
~~~
There was a kid, 16 years old, in the cemetery at night, digging a hole, Christina assumed it was his job.
"Why are we here?" She whisper yelled at Derek.
"How long can you make your claws?" Derek questioned keeping his gaze on the boy.
Christina twisted her face in confusion, but still answered, "three inches longer than they already are, why?"
"Go over there have your hand, only, your hand on the stone and when he looks at you drag it back slowly and growl." Derek explained, pointing to a somewhat large headstone.
"Why do I have to do it?" Christina protested.
"Cause I said so, now go." He said lowly.
"Ugh fine, I'm only doing this cause I need a place to stay."
Before Christina could even get to the head stone she tripped over and growled pretty loud and he looked in her direction so she flashed her eyes once she looked up.
She then sprinted towards the headstone, extended her claws and waited for the light to come her way and once it did she dragged it away slowly.
"What the hell?"
'I know Derek said to only do this, but it's so boring.' Christina thought.
She ran towards him, and pushed the machine over, causing the boy to fall into the pit he dug,
He groaned in pain and Christina felt bad right after, Derek sighed and moved her to the side.
"Help me pick this up." He huffed
Once they moved the machine away from the hole, Christina got one look at the boy's face, she whispered to Derek, "Can I have him?"
"No," he rolled his eyes at her then shifted his attention to the boy, "Need a hand?"
"It's Lahey, Isaac Lahey."
"You work for your father Isaac?" The sheriff asked him but before he could answer his father interrupted.
"When he's not at school, which is where he needs to be in 20 minutes."
"I understand, but I've got a missing girl and this is where our K-9 unit led us. She's got no clothes and if she's still out tonight when the temperature really drops," the sheriff explained.
"Sorry, but I didn't see anything." Isaac replied.
"Trust me, if he'd seen a naked girl, outside of a computer screen, he'd remember it." Mr. Lahey laughed derisively while Isaac looks at the ground and the sheriff notices the bruise underneath Isaac's eye.
"Isaac, how'd you get that black eye?" The sheriff said keeping his focus on Mr. Lahey. While Mr. Lahey glares at Isaac waiting for his answer.
"School." Isaac said quickly.
"School fight?"
"Lacrosse." He nodded looking at sheriff.
"For Beacon Hills? My son plays for the team. Well he's on the team but he doesn't technically play. Not yet anyway." The sheriff trailed on.
Isaac's gaze passed the sheriff to notice Derek and Christina Hale watching and listening just beyond the cemetery gates.
The sheriff noticed that he lost Isaac's attention and followed his gaze, but they were gone.
