Here I was standing on the blacktop of an abandoned road, watching as he walked straight ahead into the darkness that lead into Bluemont's most famous forest. I have only known him for a mere couple of days, but, I felt as if I've known him forever. In those few days, I learned about a few dark secrets. Those secrets had been unfolded to me, changing my view of the world. Many things I thought didn't exist, were all around me in many shapes, forms, and even disguises.
He hesitated, as his blonde curls and his piercing blue eyes were the only things visible in the shadows of the dark trees,"Makenna, are you coming," His deep voice echoed in the silence. I looked around me, making sure no one was near. Eventually, I nodded, taking his outstretched hand. He smiled down at me, before we continued to walk into the darkness that lead into the unknown.
