We just stared at each other for a minute or two. "Zackery grab the ball and come on, we've got a game to finish," one of the other boys yelled. I didn't noticed the ball laying next to me till now.
He grabbed the ball and said, with a closed- eyed smile "it's nice meeting you but I have to go, bye." I waved after him as he ran to go play with his friend's again.
I went up to a man who was clean the counter in an bar/restaurant. I waited patiently for him to notice me. When he did, with a smile, he said "we don't get many new faces around here so what can I help you with?"
I smiled shyly and bowed then asked "I-I was w-wondering if I co-could use your ph-phone, s-sir?" He seemed to notice how shy I was and motion for me to follow him.
He lead me to the other side on the counter and showed me the phone and said "here take as long as you need." I smiled my gratitude to him then he left.
I turned to the phone and dialed the number. It rang three times before someone answered "hello?"
"I-is this E-edward Elri-ric?" I asked not sure.
"yeah, who is this?" I heard the person on other end of phone say.
I smiled and said "it's me Brother!"
"WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!" I had to pull the phone away from my ear so that I wouldn't go deaf from him yelling at me.
"I'm in a town, I'm not sure how from for Winry's or what it's called because I fell asleep on the way here, I'm sorry Brother." Then I decided to tell Brother what I'd told Winry before I left "Brother, I'm going to start traveling like you and Alphonse do so you don't have to come get and I'll call you every time I get to a new town." I didn't tell Winry I'd call her at every town but Brother wouldn't let me travel if I didn't call him at every town.
I heard him sigh through the phone then "fine, but be safe and just call Central OK." I told him I would and hung up.
