Draco didn't realise how seriously some people take pointless and ridiculous things. While all of the Slytherin boys were practically tripping over each other in such a frantic rush, spraying cologne, some first years begging for older students to tie their ties, and the fight to get a look at themselves in the full-length mirror, Draco sat calmly and tied the laces to his polished shoes, relaxed and nonchalant. While everyone else was fretting that they would drink a potion that would turn them into an ugly fat kid, Draco massaged his sharp jawline. Through a gap in the pampering boys, Draco spotted himself in the mirror and smirked. Gosh darn, he was handsome. It was actually a good thing he wasn't taking part because he thought that he'd cause more than a few fights over who would get to be him.

After a while, excited boys poured out of the dorm room and out of the common room into the hallway, pushing and shoving each other all the way to the room of requirement. Draco noticed that the Ravenclaw girls and Hufflepuff boys had already starting lining up outside of the room, with the Slytherin boys being closely followed by the Gryffindor girls.

Draco spotted Loony Lovegood looking dreamily around the room, all of the chatter and shoving seeming oblivious to her. Loony wouldn't be hard to detect in anyone's body Draco thought. You'd know it's her if the person starts blabbing about nargles or the nonsensical Quibbler. Before he knew it, everyone was present and looking formal in their fancy clothes. Mcgonagal gestured for everyone to quieten before moving to the front of the long, long line.

"Before we start, I would like everyone to think deeply about a room that is perfect for everyone to anonymously drink Polyjuice potions in" Draco squeezed his eyes shut and imagined deeply what Mcgonagal instructed him to. Before he knew it, you could hear the sliding of stone slabs against one another as a doorway appeared in the sandstone wall in front of him. "Now, there should be a dark oak wooden door in this wall for all of you, yes?" everyone nodded. Yup, dark oak. "So, when you enter this room I want the girls to go to the left and boys to the right, I want the girls to take one potion from the red table and I want the boys to take one potion from the green table. Do you all comprehend?" Mcgonagal wrung her hands together. Everyone seemed to be understanding what was going on, so she continued. "Alright, I hope you all have fun! Be nice! And remember, don't give up your real identity!" With that, the huge oak doors swung open and everyone poured inside. Draco slipped to the right and the girls went to the left. This whole thing was like a lucky dip. Whether you'd transform into someone hot, or someone not. Of course, the blonde didn't even need to grab a potion, but to play along he walked down the seemingly never ending hallway that this room had created and ducked up inside a vacant room.

Ginny, before it came to anyone's attention, sprinted into the boy's line, crossing paths with Harry who was on route to the girl's line. Hermione noticed, and watched the comical couple with a hint of humour.

"Try and remember which room Ron goes into" Pavarti said to Lavender behind Hermione. "That way you can bag him right away". Oh god Hermione thought, in all honestly, she felt like turning around and saying how much of waste of time Ron is, but she just plastered a fake smile on her face, squeezing the neck of the potion bottle she'd gotten yesterday. Hermione got to the front of the cue and marched down the hallway into the first vacant room she could find. She slipped inside and closed the door.

The room literally had nothing in it except for a box of tissues and a full-length mirror. Hermione studied herself in the mirror, smoothing down the rogue dress she was wearing and brushing her hair through with her fingers. She hadn't made a huge effort to look nice, since tonight it didn't matter. Tonight she was Astoria Greengrass, wearing whatever glamorous clothes Astoria had picked out to wear. Without another thought, Hermione flicked the cap off the potion bottle and took a huge swig, scrunching her face up at the vile taste. The taste didn't matter for long as Hermione shot up about another foot and a half, her wavy hair straightening and shrinking ever so slightly. Then, her face began to shift and rearrange like a jigsaw puzzle, changing her adequate makeup into a full-face of professional magic. Hermione's red dress melted away and was replaced with an emerald coloured maxi dress, glittering with pearls and diamonds, with black folds enveloping Astoria's feminine shape perfectly. Finally the transformation was done and Hermione was astounded at how beautiful Astoria really was. She opened the door to the small room and stepped out, the air seeming fresher and friskier than before. Swinging her arms, Hermione (or should I say Astoria) walked out of the room of requirement and into the hallway, following the crowds of people to the great hall, where a party was in full swing.

It was pretty much decked out like it was for the Yule Ball, with an enormous buffet and a stage that was booming loud music from some wizard band. Hermione couldn't help but wonder which one of these people was Ron. But that thought soon left her mind when she saw the chocolate fountain. Mesmerised, she walked over reaching for a marshmallow and dipping it in. Delicious she thought as she took a bite. It was at that moment when Hermione realised how awkward and lonely the party was until you met someone. Most people were just on the dance floor boogying around, so Hermione decided to join them. Besides, it was better than gorging herself at the chocolate fountain like a lonely pig.

Hermione joined in the dancing, and although how perfect she seemed, Astoria really had two left feet. Hermione practically tumbled through the Conga line, squashed behind whoever transformed into Seamus Finnigan. After a few minutes, a soft hand reached out and grabbed around her's, pulling her mysteriously from the Conga line and to the side of the dance floor.

"CAN WE GO SOMEWHERE A LITTLE MORE QUIETER?" the person's voice yelled over the loud music. Hermione couldn't see who they were under the strobe lights, but she nodded as the figure led her out of the great hall and down and empty corridor.

It was at that moment when the person turned around and Hermione saw that it was Draco Malfoy! What unlucky bugger ended up being him?  Although Hermione couldn't help thinking, boy, whoever ended up being Draco basically can bag any girl he wants with those looks.

"You look beautiful tonight" Draco said, his black tuxedo glinting in the pale moonlight that was shining in through the window. Hermione, well, Astoria blushed.

"And so do you" there. She said it. Although Hermione was no fan of his whatsoever, Draco Malfoy was one god damn smoking hot boy. And she's basically just said that to his face. Well, kinda.

"Should we just get straight into this?" Draco asked, cupping Hermione's face with rounded palms.

"Get into wha-" Hermione started, but she was cut off,

When Draco leaned in to kiss her.
