Backstory: As I grew out of the stereotypical romantic stories, I found a love for sci-fi, horror, and dystopian stories. It was all sci-fi movies, books, everything. I can definitely say that when I was writing this I took inspiration from pieces of entertainment such as The Giver and Divergent. I didn't realize that at the time but looking back it's SO similar that I might not even want to write it. We don't need another one of those books out there. Regardless, I'm fond of the prompt.

"Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes all the same"
(Little Boxes, Reynolds, 1962)

Humanity struggled for decades, and from it evolved the Utopia. However, not everybody chose to join the society. Millions of people were recruited into 3 distinct Utopias, the outliers left to the Dystopia. With the clean, white state of the perfect society, perfect society members were created. Everything was rationed, portioned, fair. The same items every day, the bare necessities. Anything you'd need for the week was handed to you. On the day of Emilia "Millie" Finch's eighteenth birthday, however, she receives a shocking item. The weapon, thin and grey, leaves a cold weight in both her hand and her stomach. With what she has currently on her person, the item, and a companion (both unforeseen), she is left to the endeavor at hand.
