After I fell to the ground, I slipped in and out of consciousness. I couldn't understand the voices that surrounded me; they all sounded fuzzy. As I slipped back into darkness, I felt and overwhelming pain in my stomach.
James POV
I groaned and stood up after hearing the gun shots. I was deathly afraid one of them had hit Abbi, when I saw that one did, I broke down crying. I shakily dialed 911 and mindlessly told the operator the address. I dropped to my knees beside my wife and held her until the ambulance got there.
As we rode to the hospital, the EMTs checked her vital signs and stabilized her. I impatiently waited for the doctor to bring me news. I stood up as I saw him walking towards me. "Mr. Johnson, you're wife will be fine. We had to perform surgery to remove the bullet, but she should be fine in a couple of months," the doctor said kindly. I sighed in relief and thanked him asking when I could see her. "If you wish, you may go see her now," he smiled at me.
As I walked into her room, relief flooded over me as I saw my beautiful wife awake and looking amazing. She turned to see her visitor, smiling when she saw me. "Well hello, Mr. Johnson." I smirked and sat down on her bed. I opened my mouth to say something but she cut me off. "What the hell happened at your office? All I remember is walking in there, seeing Hayden holding you at gun point, then shooting at him," Abbi stated slowly. I looked at her solemnly and replied, "after you shot Hayden, he fell to the ground firing back in your direction. The bullet hit you in the stomach. The doctor said you're going to be fine though."
Abbi POV
Relief flooded over me as James told me I was going to be okay and that I had shot Hayden. Then a question started picking at my brain. I turned to James with a look of horror on my face. "Did I kill Hayden?" I asked. He looked at me and muttered, "yeah baby, you did." Believe it or not, I actually smiled when he said that. Now my life could go back to normal and I don't have to keep living my life terrified he might find me. This may not have been the way I planned my honeymoon, but its definitely something I'll never forget.
A/N: What a great way to end a great book. Just kidding! Hope you enjoy. Comment and vote<3
