Jungkook wakes up with a Snapchat notification from Taehyung, and he's quite positive his heart stops for a good ten seconds. His thumb hovers over the red square. Taehyung sent a picture, not a chat. It could just be a black screen, so why is Jungkook's chest tight?
He taps it.

Jungkook's breath catches in his throat. Taehyung in a snapback is a concept he's always been quite fond of, but Taehyung hardly ever wears one. He would've screenshotted the picture if Snapchat wasn't a snitch and alerted the other person.
Quickly, he closes out the app and locks his phone screen. It's too early in the morning to try and process it all. He still doesn't quite believe he was chatting with the elder last night. It hadn't been the world's cutest conversation, far from it, but the fact that he exchanged words with Taehyung (though digital ones) was enough to make Jungkook grin ear from ear. No matter how he looks at it, he can say he was noticed by his crush.
Though his crush has no idea who he is.
That's a good thing, through Jungkook's eyes.
He showers, brushes his teeth, dresses, and then bids his mom and sister a brief goodbye before leaving the house. He walks to school since it isn't too far. His sister starts later than him and his mom goes to work right after dropping her off. Jungkook hates getting to school any earlier than he has to, thus why he chooses to walk rather than ride with his family.
Besides, walking is good for him. He's not too happy about the few pounds he put on over the holiday break a couple weeks ago.
Jungkook marvels at the early morning sky, raising his camera for a picture or two. He's walking into the school courtyard while looking at the pictures when someone bumps into his shoulder. He would have dropped his camera were it not for him being wise enough to keep it hanging around his neck.
"Oh, sorry."
Jungkook freezes at the deep voice, hesitantly looking up at Taehyung's face.
Taehyung smiles at him. "My bad. Trying to squeeze in some studying before a big test," he says with a laugh, showing Jungkook the papers in his hands scribbled with messy notes.
